"Chanthaburi"

One of the must-visit cities… As everyone knows, there are many tourist attractions.

Offering a diverse range of experiences, from the serenity of the mountains to the thrill of the sea, with cascading waterfalls, charming homestays, and a delectable culinary scene.

Today, we will not delve into the details of each location, as there are already numerous reviews available.

Let's say that this trip was an opportunity to both make merit and travel. With only 2 days and 1 night, I tried to arrange the places in a way that I would like to share with my friends as a guideline for their future trips.

Starting the journey with making merit at Khao Khitchakut National Park.

This year (2018), the park is open from January 17th to March 17th. Choose to visit according to your faith.

We have arrived at the Khitchakut Mountain Trail. Let's go!

Upon arrival, we purchased a 4WD ticket to the Phra Siwali Lan for 100 baht per person per trip.

After parking at the Phra Siwali Lan, we will need to walk approximately 1.2 kilometers to reach the Phra Phutthabat Phluang and the Inverted Bowl-Shaped Rock.

Let's go!

Take breaks as you walk to avoid getting too tired.

I could only take pictures with my phone along the way.

Because carrying a camera would make us more tired, hehe.

The journey began at a high altitude, with a thin mist in the air.

Although we started our ascent around 11 am, we were fortunate that the day was not hot.

The absence of sunshine made the climb pleasant, with only a gentle breeze and a light mist caressing our faces.

It was incredibly refreshing.

We finally arrived at the Phra Phutthabat Phluang and the Hin Ruea Baat Kwam.

At this point, the staff will inform you of the steps involved.

After completing our mission on this mountain, we descended in less than 10 minutes.

It was so different from the uphill climb. On the way down, we practically ran down the mountain. Hehe.

Here's a short clip of us riding the 4WD downhill. It was quite thrilling.

After descending the mountain, we checked into our accommodation before heading out for some food.

If you're in Chanthaburi and looking for a seafood restaurant that's affordable but delicious, I highly recommend Napatha Tha Cha Laep.

A must-try dish is the Pla Phla.

After lunch, we headed back to the city to pay our respects at the Chanthaburi City Pillar Shrine.

Our next stop is the riverside community of Chanthaburi and the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption.

We arrived too late, the church was already closed. We could only admire the exterior.

The allure of Chanthaburi's riverside community

The golden hour paints the scene with a breathtaking glow, rivaling any other picturesque location. As you stroll across the Niromol Bridge, the charm of the Chanthaburi riverside community unfolds before you.

This vibrant community offers a wealth of captivating experiences.

A timeless classic that perfectly complements the old riverside community.

Even in the small nooks and crannies of this community, there are beautiful wildflowers like this.

Must-see public areas

A Taste of Adventure: Exploring the Mangrove Forests of Ao Kung Kraben

After a delightful first day, we embark on a journey to discover the hidden gems of Chanthaburi on day two. Our adventure begins with a refreshing immersion in nature at the Ao Kung Kraben Mangrove Forest Study Center.

The walking paths are lined with lush greenery, providing ample shade that effectively reduces the ambient temperature.

In Memory of Mud, the Master of Krung Kraben

Now, only a memorial remains.

Let's go up to the bird watching tower to enjoy the breeze.

The view from above is always beautiful like this.

Kayaking is also available.

Now that we've had our fill of fresh air, are we ready to head to the next station?

This is a fishing community, Ban Hua Laem Pagoda.

It is located near the Nang Phaya Viewpoint.

You can park your car at the Nang Phaya Viewpoint parking lot and walk to the opposite direction.

After walking for a while, you will find this small community.

Traveling to new places allows us to experience things we've never done before.

We encounter new perspectives, unfamiliar experiences, and diverse lifestyles.

This exposure fosters empathy and understanding towards others.

This is a type of creature that gets caught in the fishing net, but it is not what the fishermen want.

So it is separated and piled up like this.

After greeting the fishermen and taking a few photos,

it was time to visit our destination, the "Ban Huai Laem Pagoda".

This is not a new tourist attraction, but it may not be well-known.

As the historical marker of the Chedi Ban Huai Laem, or the Chedi in the middle of the water, Ban Huai Laem states,

the Chedi was likely built according to the beliefs and to serve as a spiritual anchor for the fishermen of that time.

The pagoda is built on a rocky outcrop in the middle of the water. Therefore, a bridge is needed to connect the faith of the villagers and the people who come to pay their respects, as you can see.

Take a break and enjoy some grilled squid tentacles with a delicious dipping sauce.

Our final destination on this trip is the scenic viewpoint of Nang Phaya Hill.

The final stop is Chalermprakiet Borommaratchachonnani Road, one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the eastern region.

The mission of making merit and traveling with Chanthaburi, which is good for the heart, is now complete.

There are still many interesting places in Chanthaburi province, but 2 days and 1 night is not enough.

If I have the chance, I will visit them all.

Estimated expenses for this trip are as follows:

1. Accommodation fee 850

2. Fuel cost 2,500

  1. Dinner cost 500.

A total of 3,850 baht was divided equally among 3 people, resulting in 1,283 baht per person.
