Hello everyone! After exploring numerous mountains, today we'll embark on a journey to the sea. Initially, I had planned to visit the Andaman Sea, but my wallet whispered that the Gulf of Thailand would suffice. Haha! Samae San Island is located in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province, close to Koh Kham. Tickets for both islands can be purchased at the same museum, the Natural History Museum of the Sea and Marine Life, but in separate buildings. According to the staff, Koh Kham is only open on Saturdays and Sundays with a limited number of visitors, while Samae San Island is open daily. Ferry departures to the island are scheduled from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, depending on the number of tourists each day.

I bought a ticket at 8:30 AM and got number 439 in the queue. The boat departs at 10:00 AM and the ticket price is 300 baht, which includes admission to the Museum of Natural History of the Thai Islands and Sea. If you have time, you can visit the museum while you wait. There are also places to eat nearby. You can bring your own lunch or buy food on the island. However, the food options on the island are limited to simple dishes like instant noodles. The boat ride to the island takes about 10 minutes.

Upon disembarking, turn left to reach Haad Thian Beach.

The right side of the image above is shown.

Upon arrival, we were required to attend a 5-minute briefing by the staff. Activities on the island included nature exploration, mangrove exploration, snorkeling for 50 baht per round, glass-bottom boat rides for 20 baht per round, and kayaking for 100 baht per hour.

After listening to the lecture, I took a walk around the area near the pier.

The picture above shows Haad Thian beach, which is located on the front side of the island.

I'm not sure what this beach is called, but it's located near Haad Thian. The sand here is quite coarse, and the beach is relatively narrow. As a result, it's not very popular for swimming.

After that, we waited for the shuttle to take us to Loog Lam Beach. This beach is quite crowded, and activities such as snorkeling, glass-bottom boat rides, and kayaking are all done here.

There is also a volleyball court.

This beach is more crowded, but it is wider and has finer sand than Haad Thian.

I took a leisurely stroll. The water is the color shown in the picture.

The journey to the island takes 4 hours. The return trip is scheduled for 2:00 PM, but those who wish to stay longer can do so until 4:00 PM. However, I am unsure about the exact details of this extended stay.

For those on a tight budget and short on time, you don't have to travel far to the south. Just stop by Koh Saemsan and Koh Kham, a mere two hours from Bangkok, and you'll find beauty that rivals the Andaman coast. #All photos taken with my phone
