The Pak Bia Environmental Learning Center

In the afternoon, we cycled around the Pak Bia Environmental Learning Center, a royal initiative of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). The center aims to find solutions to environmental problems related to waste, wastewater, and mangrove conservation using natural methods. It covers an area of approximately 1,135 rai in Laem Phak Bia Subdistrict, Ban Laem District, Phetchaburi Province.

Normally, there is a tram to take visitors around the project. However, if you arrive after 4:00 PM, you can rent a bicycle from the project for 20 baht for 3 hours. You can visit the center until 6:00 PM.

Cycling is a great way to exercise and take photos along the way.

Stroll along the nature study trail, shaded by lush mangrove trees on both sides.

If you come in the afternoon, it will be low tide. If you want to see the sea, you have to come in the morning.

Sitting here and enjoying the view is quite pleasant.

It's getting late, let's hurry back.

Cycling with a view of the sunset in the evening, the atmosphere is super chill.

Ek Seafood Restaurant @ Chao Samran Beach

After a day of sightseeing, we had dinner at Ek Seafood Restaurant @ Chao Samran Beach. This restaurant not only offers fresh seafood, but also delicious flavors and, most importantly, very affordable prices. It is another restaurant that I recommend to anyone visiting Phetchaburi to try. Plus, the restaurant is located by the sea, so you can also walk down and enjoy the view.

Signature Dishes
-Stir-fried squid with chili paste and salted egg
-Sea bass fried with fish sauce

The restaurant is located right by the sea. Before the meal, we took a walk to enjoy the breeze.

Uncle Thanom's Palm Garden

Driven by a desire to preserve the iconic palm trees of Phetchaburi, Uncle Thanom Phuangngern, a former village headman of Tham Rong sub-district, pioneered the planting of palm trees on over 10 rai of land. He has established the first local wisdom learning and conservation center for the sugar palm tree, where interested tourists can witness the process of collecting palm sap, making palm sweets, boiling palm sugar, and weaving palm leaves. Additionally, visitors can capture stunning photographs of the towering palm trees, their branches spreading out in neat, orderly rows.

The entrance to the garden is clearly marked with a sign.

The palm trees are planted in neat rows, creating a beautiful sight.

Freshly harvested palm fruit can be enjoyed raw or used to make refreshing palm fruit in syrup served over ice.

The fascinating lifestyle of palm sugar farmers in Phetchaburi is a must-see for any visitor. If you have the chance, don't miss the opportunity to visit Uncle Thanom's palm sugar farm.

Guangzhou Waterfall Floating Market

Located in Nong Ya Plong District, Phetchaburi Province, the Guangzhou Waterfall Floating Market is the first of its kind in Thailand, situated within the Guangzhou Waterfall National Park amidst stunning natural surroundings. Adhering to the principles of sufficiency economy, the market provides a platform for local villagers to sell their products to tourists every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday.

The food is served on bamboo sticks, which fits the market atmosphere perfectly. There are even boats selling goods and people sitting on the edge of the pier.

Relaxing with your feet in the water at the edge of the floating market.
