This trip was like throwing myself into the heart of nature, breathing in the pure ozone air. It was a trip without much fuss, no need for a packed itinerary, just a chance for my body to truly rest.

Wake up whenever you want and leave whenever you want, even buying return tickets is a relaxed affair.


Our first trip to Pai was an unforgettable experience. Despite having limited time to explore, we were captivated by the charm of this small town. Pai is a place that cannot be fully appreciated in a single day; it requires a leisurely exploration to truly discover its hidden gems. The fresh air, pristine natural environment, and well-preserved forests and wildlife make Pai a unique destination. Moreover, the local culture and traditions are deeply rooted in the community, adding to the town's allure.

If you have time to relax and unwind, don't miss the opportunity to visit Pai. Swing in a hammock at a bungalow, drive to watch the sunset, stroll through the local market in the evening, or soak in a hot spring. Pai has everything you need for a perfect getaway. Just open your mind and embark on a journey to Pai.

Travel and Itinerary Details

It is important to note that the expenses for this trip were quite high, as we did not plan in advance.

As mentioned, we were so relaxed during our vacation that we forgot to note down many important details. We simply forgot, haha.

This trip will be a brief overview, but overall, it's not difficult to travel to Pai. If you want to go, it's easy-peasy.

We departed from Bangkok to Chiang Mai by the State Railway of Thailand as usual. This time, I had companions, so I wasn't alone like on previous trips. 5555

This time, however, I made a mistake by booking my ticket too late. The sleeper tickets were all sold out, so I had to take a sprinter express train that took about 11-12 hours!! Oh my god!!

We chose to go to Chiang Mai because we have another friend who lives there. I forgot to mention that there were three of us on this trip.

To get to Chiang Mai city center from the airport, you can take a red taxi for 30 baht. However, if you take a taxi from the train station, the driver may charge you a tourist price of 50 baht per trip. If you want to get the regular price, walk outside and hail a taxi like we did.

We hailed a ride to Chang Phuak and stayed at Galato Coffee Hostel for one night, which cost 475.38 baht.

The next morning, we checked out of our accommodation and took a red truck from Chang Phuak to the Arcade Bus Station to buy van tickets to Pai for 150 baht. The journey from Chiang Mai to Pai takes about an hour and a half, which is not too far.

We changed our plans the day before arriving and decided to find accommodation upon arrival. We walked around the area until we found a place we liked, a trendy bungalow called Sawasdee Pai River Resort. It cost 900 baht per night for three people, which we considered reasonable. The accommodation was excellent – beautiful, clean, and cool. The owner was also very helpful in recommending places to visit.

We spent two days in Pai. There were no major hiccups during the trip.

We went for a walk on the walking street, stopped for a Thai massage, and ended the day by finding some delicious food to eat before going back to sleep.

The next morning, we woke up and went to take a dip in the hot springs at Tha Pai Hot Springs.

Charming and affordable bungalows in Pai. The owner is friendly and helpful, offering many recommendations. Located near the White Bridge, with a beautiful riverside setting. Perfect for a peaceful getaway and yoga practice.



The top layer of the Tha Pai hot spring is hot enough to boil eggs! The water temperature is so high that the eggs cook quickly, and the smell of sulfur fills the air.

Those who wish to soak in the hot springs can do so on the lower level, where there is a selection of warm water pools to choose from.

After visiting the Yunnan Chinese village, we drove up the mountain to enjoy the panoramic view. The scenery of Pai and Mae Hong Son in Thailand is truly breathtaking.



Our first night's accommodation in Chiang Mai was at the Galato Coffee Hostel.
