"Hello, everyone! ^O^"

"Welcome back! This year, I haven't had many opportunities to travel due to my busy work schedule. 😭😭😭"

"So, today, I'm taking advantage of my Sunday to show you all an interesting and valuable tourist attraction in Bangkok: the Jim Thompson House Museum."

"This museum is a traditional Thai house surrounded by a botanical garden with various plant species as old as the house itself."

"Wow! With such an introduction, what interesting things can we find here? Let's #follow along and see! ~"

After parking at the Parking service point, walk out and enter the gate. Pay 100฿ for the card.

When we walk inside, there will be someone waiting to welcome us, check our cards and take us to a tour guide. Excellent!

The guide is very AEC, speaking all languages from Thai, English, Japanese and Chinese. The accent is like a native speaker.

As for Kanacha... Thai guide for sure 555555

We will not meet the guide immediately, but will have to wait for a round, which took me about 20 minutes. While waiting, I walked around.

This is a large Thai house, which is part of the museum. And the small building that was built as

Brand Jim Thomson shop, a shop selling souvenirs, books and postcards. The meeting point for the guide is also in Thai style.

This museum primarily tells the story of Jim Thompson. What makes it interesting is that

foreigners were able to buy land in Thailand before World War II. After the war, Jim Thompson, an American architect who had left his job to serve as a soldier, fell in love with Thailand and its culture.

He bought land along the Saen Saeb Canal and purchased six traditional Thai houses, all of different sizes,

but all beautiful and to his liking, from Pak Hai District, Ayutthaya Province. He then assembled them into one large house.

As an architect, he was able to add and modify the houses with ease, making them even more beautiful.

The interior of the house is adorned with antique furnishings, some dating back over 200 years. These items were once considered undesirable by Thais, but Jim recognized their value and preserved them. Among the exhibits are ancient Buddha statues, intricately carved from teak, limestone, and sandstone, as well as centuries-old palm-leaf manuscripts and astrological texts. Jim's own furniture designs add a personal touch to the space.

The house is surrounded by ancient trees, some older than the house itself.

These massive trees are rare sights in Bangkok, offering an abundance of shade. You could easily shoot a music video here with a forest backdrop.

The property is located across the canal from the Ban Krua community, a Muslim community known for its traditional weaving practices.

Mr. Jim moved here in 1947 and later embarked on a solo trek through the jungles of Malaysia.

He vanished in 1967 at the age of 61.

The Jim Thompson House Museum is currently under the care of the Jim Thompson Foundation.

The Thai-style house received the 'Outstanding Building Conservation Award' in 1996 from the Siam Architect Association under Royal Patronage.

When it comes to the Jim Thomson brand, Thai silk comes to mind.

That's right. When you walk in here, the first thing you see is the display of silkworm cocoons, silk boiling, and silk spinning.

Because Jim, in addition to being an architect, his family in America also worked in the textile industry.

So Jim brought Thai silk from the Ban Krua community (which happened to be next door)

with its beautiful, unique, and distinctive patterns back to America.

And he was the one who made Thai silk appear on the cover of Vogue magazine at that time. Very talented~

[Actually, there's more to the story of how it became famous, but I won't spoil it.]

And the renowned Jim, synonymous with Thai silk, returned to open a silk company in Thailand.

And it became the Jim Thomson Brand that we shop at today.

So beautiful that Kanha got a bag 555555

And here is a brief story that Khana brought to share. As for the amazing and very fun details

about everything in your house, Jim, who cares about the little things that have become so precious and worth keeping until today.

Khana recommends that everyone go and see and listen to the guide with a beautiful and pleasant voice.

Plus, she smiles sweetly all the time by herself. It's not boring, it's really fun.

After enjoying the captivating story, you might find yourself feeling a bit peckish.

Fortunately, the Jim Thomson restaurant is conveniently located and ready to serve you.

The menu features beautifully presented Thai dishes, with a selection of bakery items and Western options for international customers. The friendly and attentive waitstaff are a delight, offering polite service, charming smiles, and even assistance with taking photos.

Kale enjoyed the rice soaking menu, soft-shell crab stir-fried with curry powder, and pomelo salad with fresh shrimp. Delicious, authentic Thai flavors.

The aroma is very fragrant. The pomelo salad is a big hit with Kale. I will definitely go back again!

The plain water served with the rice soaking set also has a fragrant smell. It can be said that the details are very well taken care of. I love it.

The coordinates are located on Rama I Road, the alley next to the Holiday Inn Hotel.

Go straight to the end of the alley, there is a spacious parking lot on the left hand side. I like this place because it is very convenient.

Or you can take the BTS to Sanam Ki La Station, which is also convenient.

Check out the photos that Kanom sent us. Let's all go and see them in person!

I give it a perfect score.

Thank you for following. #love
