On June 28th, I had the opportunity to attend another wine tasting event at Cafe Buongiorno.

This event will be held at La Tavola & Wine Bar on the 3rd floor of the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel.

"ITALIAN BOUTIQUE WINE GALLERY"

Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel

Ratchaprasong district, along Phetchaburi Road. If you come by BTS Skytrain, get off at Chit Lom station.

Located on the same side as Amarin Plaza, the hotel is just a short walk away.

La Tavola & Wine Bar on the 3rd floor of the hotel

La Tavola & Wine Bar, which translates to "the long table" in Italian, emphasizes the importance of...

Upon the dining table lay an assortment of tableware, including plates, bowls, glasses, cups, spoons, and forks, each meticulously chosen.

Carefully selected for both quality and aesthetics, it can accommodate up to 90 guests.

La Tavola Wine Bar & Restaurant is divided into two sections: a wine bar and a small wine cellar.

A diverse selection of wines from various countries is beautifully arranged in the glass room.

The restaurant's ceiling is adorned with stucco moldings featuring the national flower of Italy, the daisy.

On the other side is a dining room with an open kitchen.

The event is about to begin.

Kick off your level-up journey with a selection of three refreshing Prosecco Cocktails.

Prosecco cocktails are made with fresh fruit juice and TRAPPOLINI.

"GLERA BRUT" VENETO, IGT is a Prosecco sparkling wine.

Strawberry Kiss Prosecco Cocktail

Strawberry and Prosecco Sparkling Wine

Slightly sour, a touch of sweetness, and a delicate aroma of strawberries.

Mimosa Prosecco Cocktail

Low-sugar, slightly tart mango and Prosecco sparkling wine

Lemon Ginger Spritz Prosecco Cocktail

Ginger and lime with Prosecco Sprakling Wine, slightly bitter.

TRAPPOLINI GLERA BRUT VENETO, IGT

Sparkling wine, with its fragrant, sweet, and effervescent qualities, serves as a key ingredient in Prosecco cocktails.

"Cavaliere Enzo Peroni of Cafe Buongiorno spoke about the purpose of tonight's event."

After enjoying three light cocktails, the next step will be a wine tasting.

We will begin with lighter options, progressing to bolder flavors, starting with light white wines and moving on to red wines.

ARRIGONI "MANON" PAVIA, IGT

A crisp white wine with a hint of sweetness on the finish and a lingering aroma, perfectly paired with salmon.

"24-hour marinated salmon with lemon-flavored ricotta"

Salmon marinated with lemon ricotta on biscuits

Slightly tangy and salty with pickled capers.

The satisfying crunch of the biscuit makes it a delightful and enjoyable treat.

"MANON" White Wine with "Salmone"

"Acciuga al Rosso" and "Insalata di pollo" are best enjoyed with a glass of white wine.

TRAPPOLINI "ORVIETO" ORVIETO, DOC

More fragrant than "MANON", with a tart and astringent flavor, followed by a lingering sweetness in the mouth.

"Red-marinated white anchovies served with pepper jam."

"Smoked chicken breast served with Asian pomelo salad"

White anchovies served with sweet chili jam on crispy bread.

Sweet and sour chili jam, paired with slightly salty anchovies.

The bread has a crispy crust, making it enjoyable to chew.

Smoked chicken and pomelo salad

The tangy, slightly unripe pomelo salad contrasts beautifully with the savory, slightly salty chicken, creating a refreshing burst of flavor in the mouth.

White wine "ORVIETO" with "Acciuga al Rosso" and "Insalata di pollo"

Braised Pork Cheek

This dish features tender pork cheek meat that has been slowly braised in a flavorful sauce. The resulting dish is rich, savory, and perfect for a comforting meal.

Pork cheeks marinated in red wine before being braised in a slow cooker results in exceptionally tender and succulent meat.

Pairs well with creamy mashed potatoes and a side of steamed baby carrots. Delicious.

"Bocconcino" Dried prune & almond wrapped in pancetta

Grilled bacon-wrapped prunes stuffed with almonds. The sweet prunes are complemented by the richness of the almonds.

And a hint of saltiness from the bacon, which surprisingly complements the dish.

ARRIGONI "LA BISBETICA" PAVIA, IGT

The red wine's rich aroma filled the air, followed by a dry, then sweet taste that lingered on the palate.

"LA BISBETICA" red wine with "Bocconcino" and Braised Pork Cheek

"In Carrozza" - Crispy mozzarella with tomato dip.

Fried mashed potato balls stuffed with mozzarella cheese

Enjoy it hot to see the cheese stretch as you bite into it. Chewy and delicious for cheese lovers.

Enhances the flavor of the food.

ARRIGONI "SIMON B." NERO D'AVOLA, IGT

Tannic and slightly sour red wine

Red wine "SIMON B." with "In Carrozza"

"Sous-vide veal loin with tuna sauce"

Veal ribs with tuna cream sauce

This sentence describes a dish that was not tasted because it contained beef. The dish was rolled in dough and garnished with capers.

ARRIGONI "POGGIO AL VENTO" CHIANTI COLLI SENSI, DOCG

This is a Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG wine produced by Arrigoni. The name "Poggio al Vento" likely refers to the vineyard where the grapes are grown.

Here is a more detailed breakdown of the information:

  • ARRIGONI: This is the name of the producer.
  • "POGGIO AL VENTO": This is the name of the wine. "Poggio" means "hill" in Italian, and "vento" means "wind." This suggests that the vineyard where the grapes are grown is located on a windy hill.
  • CHIANTI COLLI SENSI: This is the name of the wine region. Chianti is a famous wine region in Tuscany, Italy. Colli Senesi is a sub-region of Chianti that is known for its rolling hills and picturesque scenery.
  • DOCG: This stands for Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita. This is the highest classification of Italian wine, and it guarantees that the wine has been produced according to strict regulations.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

The red wine left a lingering astringency on the tip of the tongue before blossoming into a sweet, fragrant aroma in the mouth.

"POGGIO AL VENTO" Red Wine with "Tonnato"

Fettuccine with Parmigiano Reggiano and Black Truffle

Paired with the most intense red wine of the day, Chef Handsome himself will be there to cook for you.

Trappolini "Cenerento" Lazio, IGT

Today's boldest red wine boasts an aromatic bouquet with a subtle astringency that gives way to a lingering sweetness.

Chef Salvatore Catania prepares fettuccine tossed with Parmigiano reggiano.

These yellow cheese cubes, before being served one plate at a time.

The appearance of the expensive black truffle.

Black Truffle Oil Fettuccine with Cream Sauce

Thick and chewy fettuccine, slightly salty and buttery with a hint of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.

It is unclear whether the aroma is from the grated Parmigiano reggiano or the shaved truffles.

Never having smelled either.

**"CENERETO" red wine with fettuccine**

End the day with a sweet treat (really..?)

Mango mousse and coconut panna cotta paired with ARRIGONI "ALFREDO" MOSCATO, PAVIA IGT

Or sweet wine, sweet, fragrant, sparkling

Mango mousse captures the essence of mango's flavor and aroma. If topped with diced ripe mango, it enhances the sensory experience.

It would be even more enjoyable to eat.

Coconut panna cotta, with its smooth, soft texture, subtle sweetness, and fragrant coconut aroma, pairs perfectly with sweet wine.
