Homestay Tanong: Immerse Yourself in Nature's Embrace
Nestled amidst serene rice paddies, Homestay Tanong offers a tranquil escape where you can reconnect with nature. Wake up to breathtaking mountain vistas and witness the mesmerizing dance of morning mist as it gently envelops the landscape.
Let's spend a night at a homestay in the middle of a rice field in Pua District, Nan Province.
Relax and enjoy the mountain views, stroll along the green rice fields, and breathe in the fresh air.
Wake up in the morning and watch the mist from your room. It's an amazing experience.
When people think of Pua District, they often imagine beautiful green rice fields. However, if you want to see the green fields, you need to plan your trip during the right season. The rice planting season in Pua starts at the end of June. After planting, the rice fields turn green around the end of July and remain green until mid-October. Last year, I visited Pua in late October, when the rice fields were a golden yellow color, ready for harvest. The scenery was beautiful in a different way. This year, I decided to come back during the green rice field season. So, I planned a trip for early August, when the rice fields are at their most beautiful. If you're planning a trip to Pua, don't worry about finding accommodation. There are many options available, each with its own unique charm. For this trip, we chose to stay at Tarn Nong Homestay. Let's take a look at the atmosphere and see how relaxing it is.
Driving along the road, you will see white houses amidst the green rice fields, indicating that you have arrived at Tanong Homestay.
A bamboo bridge stretches across the rice fields.
On the second floor, there are two rooms. In front of the rooms, there is a table where you can sit and enjoy the view.
After climbing the stairs to the third and top floor, we reached our reserved room. The view was absolutely stunning.
The interior of the room is decorated with sweet floral curtains.
The view from the room is like this. It would be a shame to just sleep in such a beautiful place. Let's go to the bathroom, wash our faces, change our clothes, and go for a walk.
Strolling on the paddy field bund
Let's fly kites and take beautiful pictures in this field. I brought the kites myself.
After running until I was tired, I decided to sit down and enjoy the view. As I sat there, it was time for lunch. Let's go eat.
Poolside lounge area
Dinner is served in two rounds. We booked the first round at 5:00 PM. Please note that reservations are required in advance.
Ready to go all out with clean hands.
The cuisine is local, featuring dishes such as hang lay curry, nam phrik num, and sai ua.
After washing my hands, I used them to pick up the delicious sai oua. It was so good, being a charcoal-grilled sai oua that they make themselves here. I couldn't resist ordering a kilo to take home.

After finishing their meal, they went for a walk to aid digestion as the sky gradually darkened.
The sky began to turn blue.
The atmosphere at night is beautiful in a different way.
Waking up to this beautiful view after opening my room door.
Walking to sit on the observation tower in the early morning, encountering such a beautiful view, it's so cool.
The morning dew on the rice stalks, a leisurely walk until it's time to go back and take a shower to prepare for breakfast. Then we'll go for a bike ride together.
I would like to have some tea or coffee in this corner.
Breakfast is rice porridge with pork and carrots, along with locally grown fruits freshly picked from nearby.
After a hearty breakfast, we are ready to go cycling.
Last year, I had the opportunity to visit Phua and pay respects at the Phra That Chom Thong temple. This time, I returned to Ban Don and took the opportunity to visit Phra That Chom Thong again.
Taking photos along the way to rest and relax.
From here, you can cycle for a while until you reach a steep slope. If you're not up to it, you can walk your bike and enjoy the breeze.
Upon reaching the path leading to the Phra That Chom Thong, bicycles must be parked below.
The stairs were slippery due to moss, so we walked up the side road instead.
The ascent is approximately like this. Those who drive cars can drive up.
Who can see our homestay accommodation? It's the white one in the distance. Have we really come this far?
We have arrived at the Jom Thong Temple.
The cat came to cuddle and posed for a photo.
On the way back, we cycled downhill, so it didn't take long. In no time at all, we were cycling to our accommodation.
Upon returning to the room, I took a rest and captured the breathtaking views of the mountains before departing.
Those who wish to relax amidst the lush green rice fields should hurry, as the fields will remain green until the end of September. By October, the rice will turn golden, creating a different kind of beauty. So don't wait any longer! Gather your friends, invite your loved ones, pack your bags, and join us for a relaxing stay at Tanong Homestay.
