"The cat is outside."

The relentless rain and wind that have been battering the region lately may deter many from venturing out or even traveling during this time. The sea, in particular, may not be an ideal choice. However, some individuals choose to visit the sea during this season. This is likely due to the fact that the sea is a popular destination for escaping the summer heat, resulting in crowded beaches. The rainy season, therefore, presents an excellent opportunity to relax by the sea without the distraction of crowds.

Koh Mun Nok: A Secluded Paradise in the Gulf of Thailand

Koh Mun Nok, a tiny island nestled in the Gulf of Thailand off the coast of Rayong province, offers an unparalleled escape for those seeking ultimate privacy. With only one resort on the entire island, Koh Mun Nok truly lives up to its name as a "Private Island."

The sound of waves

The sound of the wind

and the sound of her own heart

This is something you will experience here.

At Koh Mun Nok…

Sailing

At 1:00 PM, the pier bustled with tourists as the ferry arrived to transport passengers to Koh Mun Nok. The large passenger ferry had two decks, with the upper deck open-air and without a roof. Most people opted to sit on the lower deck, as the weather was still too hot to sit and enjoy the breeze and sunshine above.

The distance of more than 11 kilometers from the coast to Koh Man Nok, if it were a road, would take no more than 10 minutes. However, traveling by boat with waves constantly crashing against it takes almost an hour to reach the destination.

Welcome to Koh Mun Nok Private Island

From a small point in the distance, the image of the island of Koh Man Nok began to become clearer, revealing more details as the boat began to slow down. A small boat waiting to take us to shore was already anchored. The first feeling when my feet touched the clean white sand was worth the almost hour-long boat ride. The atmosphere around was peaceful, with only the soft chatter of tourists and the sound of the wind and waves.

Freshly squeezed pineapple juice, offered with a welcoming smile by the friendly staff, significantly alleviated the symptoms of seasickness. Tourists gradually made their way to the check-in counter to register and wait for their luggage. The elevated wooden deck, extending towards the sea, served as a relaxation and dining area.

After settling into the accommodation, it was time for true relaxation.

The Sound of Waves and Seawater

The sound of waves and seawater

At 4:00 PM, as the storm clouds gathered and the wind picked up, the temperature began to drop. We decided to play in the pool and on the beach instead of swimming in the sea.

I don't want to go back.

As mentioned earlier, Koh Mun Nok is an exceptionally tranquil island, ideal for genuine relaxation. Therefore, for our evening activity, we opted for a wooden pavilion nestled on the beach, where we could chat and sip beer with friends amidst the sound of the wind and the waves gently lapping against the shore.

The morning atmosphere was still shrouded in clouds, preventing sunlight from filtering through. This morning, we chose to sit and enjoy the sea breeze in front of our accommodation, letting our minds and bodies relax in the peaceful atmosphere that is difficult to find in a big city.

"Nestled amidst tranquility, 'Ka-Ma-Mun Nok' offers a haven for those seeking solace. While its intimate setting may not resonate with everyone, given the diverse interpretations of contentment, it presents an unparalleled opportunity for introspection and immersion in nature's symphony. For those yearning for a sanctuary to listen to the whispers of their hearts, this hidden gem is an invitation not to be missed."
