This entry will take you on a tour of the "Bang Noi Floating Market" in a short amount of time.

We need to return to our accommodation, Baan Nam Resort, before 3 pm.

To board the tour boat to Wat Phra Chom, which was arranged with the resort.

The Bang Noi Floating Market is located near the Baan Nam Pern Resort.

We parked our car near Wat Ko Kaeo.

After crossing the road, you will see a sign indicating the entrance to Bang Noi Floating Market.

Follow the path and you will see this connecting bridge.

We could have crossed over to the other side, but we didn't have time, so we didn't.

The Enduring Legacy of Bang Noi Floating Market

The Bang Noi Floating Market boasts a rich and extensive history, serving as a testament to the enduring traditions and cultural significance of Thailand's waterways.

The Bang Noi Nok community, also known as Pak Khlong Bang Noi, was once a thriving hub for waterborne trade.

A point of great significance in the Mae Klong River basin is located at the mouth of the Bang Noi Canal.

Front of Wat Ko Kaeo, Kradangnga Subdistrict, Bang Khan Thi District

It is located approximately 5 kilometers from the Amphawa R.2 Park.

The market was a series of wooden shophouses lining both sides of the canal.

The charm of this place lies in its authenticity as a traditional market where locals sell their own goods.

The market is small and can be explored in about 30 minutes.

The market is open every day, but on weekdays, there are not many shops open.

They close around 4 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, they open from

From 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the fire tunnel on the bridge will be open for viewing.

Every Saturday and Sunday until 10 pm.

Adjacent to the connecting bridge, there is a pavilion with mats and tables set up for resting.

Walk to the seating area of the "Narumon Oyster Omelette" restaurant.

Extremely hungry, I decided not to search for another restaurant and settled for this one.

Crispy Oyster Omelette

This sentence describes a delicious dish called "crispy oyster omelette." The key features are highlighted:

  • Crispy batter: The batter is cooked to perfection, resulting in a satisfying crunch.
  • Oil-free: The preparation avoids excess oil, making it a healthier option.
  • Bean sprouts and Chinese kale: These fresh vegetables add texture and nutritional value to the dish.

Have you ever encountered Chinese broccoli in oyster omelets? You probably haven't!

Surprisingly, they go well together. Let's try it here.

Enjoy a relaxing meal for only 30 baht right here in the pavilion!

Full and satisfied, let's explore.

Pharmacy

Sells all kinds of bags

Go down to the pier and look to the left, you will see the mouth of Khlong Bang Noi.

Looking towards the rice field, you will see a connecting bridge.

Continue walking to see the next item.

There are also massage parlors.

House by the Mae Klong River

Zoom in to clearly see the house. The pavilion by the water of this house is beautiful.

Another one

Oh my! Terracotta toys... It reminds me of my childhood.

A stove for making "khanom krok" (Thai coconut pancakes) is lit, and eggs are cracked into the molds (sizzle, sizzle...).

The end of Bang Noi Floating Market leads to a pavilion with a red roof.

The items on sale at Wat Ko Kaeo are similar to those found elsewhere.

The red-roofed pavilion faces the parking lot of Wat Ko Kaeo.

That's where we parked the car…

This closed room is the "Tang Sian Huat" Thousand Jar Folk Museum.

Unfortunately, it was closed so I couldn't see it. I asked people nearby and they said that

The house owner's collection of various antique jars.

...and some were collected by diving in the Mae Klong River in front of the house...

Retrace your steps and capture any missed details.

The first round passed, only goods were seen, no sellers were seen.

I found you, my dear brother, sitting and working. You have settled down.

At a small bench in front of the table, I ordered a set of mini roti sai mai to try.

Pan-fried turnip cake (Lo Bak Go)

It is a flatbread made from glutinous rice flour that is grilled on a flat pan.

To obtain a thin, round sheet of dough, place peanut filling in the center of the sheet.

Sprinkle brown sugar and sesame seeds, then roll up, sealing the ends.

"Roti Tae Jiew" is a family-treasured pastry, with the original recipe passed down from the grandmother.

Invented by the Teochew Chinese, it was originally called "banana luo cake".

Used for worshipping deities in the ceremony of sending the Kitchen God to heaven 6 days before Chinese New Year.

Grandma patted her daughter's hand and sat down to roll roti for us.

Roti Taechiew, a miniature roti, can only be found at Bang Noi Floating Market.

This house is for sale... and most importantly, you can sit and eat in front of the stove.

Freshly made pastries are more delicious than those bought and eaten at home.

One krathong with 3 pieces is 20 baht.

Soft, chewy, slightly sweet, fragrant, crispy, with nuts and sesame seeds.

Delicious, perfect with a cup of hot tea.

On the way back to the parking lot at Wat Ko Kaeo, I saw a stall selling Chula kites.

For inquiries about Thai kites, please contact the Chulabhongpram Kite Group in Bangkonthi.

The shops were not all open because we went on a weekday.

The number of tourists has decreased, making it more comfortable to walk around.

The Bang Noi Floating Market tour has ended for today...

The next entry will take you on a boat trip to worship the Buddha and visit the temple.

Visit the Amphawa Floating Market and watch the fireflies.

Bang Noi Floating Market at Night

Returning from a temple tour, admiring the temples and watching the fireflies.

Please ask the boatman to stop for a moment so we can take some pictures.

The tunnel lights up beautifully at night, until 10 pm.

This newly installed light tunnel serves as a recent attraction.

Bang Noi Floating Market is ideal for tourists who appreciate tranquility.

Tranquil and uncrowded, offering a relaxed atmosphere unlike other bustling floating markets.

If you come here, you must try "Roti Taechiew". If you don't, it's like you haven't been here at all! (Seriously!)

The majority of products sold originate from within the community itself.

Bang Noi Floating Market is open every day, but it is especially lively on Saturdays and Sundays.

Open until 8 pm and the light tunnel on the bridge will be open for viewing.

Open until 10pm every Saturday and Sunday.
