February 27, 2018
Today, we are taking a bus to Kawaguchiko.
From Tawaramachi Station:
- Take the subway to Shinjuku Station (M8), South Exit.
- Upon exiting the station, you will see a street. Across the street is the Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal, located next to the NEWoMan department store.
- Take the escalator next to the terminal to the 4th floor.
- The bus fare is 1,750 yen per person.

We boarded the 10:15 bus and arrived at Kawaguchiko Station after a two-hour journey. We had lunch at a restaurant in the station, enjoying ramen and bento boxes. After leaving our luggage in a locker at the station, we took a bus to Oshino Hakkai, the "Clear Water Village." There was still some snow along the way. (It is recommended to ask for the bus timetable from the information desk, as it is the most up-to-date and reliable source.)
The journey from Kawaguchiko Station to the Clear Water Village takes approximately 20 minutes. Buses in Japan are known for their punctuality, adhering strictly to their schedules. The fare is 600 yen per person. The bus will drop you off at the entrance of the village, where you will find a parking lot across the street. For your return trip, simply cross the street and wait for the bus at the bus stop in front of the parking lot.
From the bus stop at the entrance of the village, it is a short walk to the Nam Sai Village. The museum has an entrance fee, which we decided not to pay. We went to see the water wells instead. The water in the wells here is melted snow from Mount Fuji. There are many wells, some with very clear water and some with very dirty water. The building in the picture is a souvenir shop. On a clear day, you can see Mount Fuji behind the building, but on the day we went, the sky was cloudy so we couldn't see Fuji at all.
Entering the homes of local residents in this area is not advisable. Some houses clearly display "Private Zone" signs prohibiting photography, yet some tourists seem to disregard these signs and enter the homes to take pictures. This behavior is disheartening.
The image on the lower left is of a bathroom.
On the way back, we missed the bus that went directly to Kawaguchiko Station, so we had to take a bus to transfer to a train at Fujisan Station. Then, we took a train to Kawaguchiko Station. The bus fare to Fujisan Station was 400 yen per person, and the train fare was 400 yen per person.
In the evening after checking in at the hotel, we took a walk to enjoy the view of Mount Fuji and the lake at Kawaguchiko Herb Hall, which is within walking distance from the hotel. (I will skip the details of Backpackers Hostel K's House Mt. Fuji because I was not impressed. Before booking, I saw that it was a hotel that Thai people like to stay at, but personally, I think that compared to the service and the price I paid, it would be better to pay a little more and choose a hotel near Kawaguchiko Station.)
Date: February 28, 2018
Morning:
- A new day began with a wait for the bus at the bus stop in front of the hotel. The wait started at 8:30 AM.
- The first bus arrived at 9:00 AM, so the passengers took the opportunity to take some photos while they waited.

Let's ride the Kachi Kachi Ropeway.
Transportation:
- Take bus number 11 to Ropeway Ent. The bus stop is located in front of the Fujiyama Cookie shop, near the cable car station.
- The cable car is decorated with rabbit and raccoon (known as "tanuki" in Japanese) characters.
- Operating hours: 9:00 AM - 5:10 PM
- Round-trip ticket price: 800 yen per person.

Arriving early allowed for a short wait in line for the cable car, as the crowds had not yet arrived. The ascent to the mountain peak was swift, taking no more than 15 minutes.

A view of Mount Fuji from the summit of Mount Tenjo.
Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.
After disembarking from the cable car, take bus to stop 22, Natural Living Center, the last bus stop. Initially, I planned to have lunch here, but most of the food sold was fried chicken and sausages, which would not be filling enough.
The wind is strong and the weather is cold here, but the view of Mount Fuji is breathtaking. I imagine it would be even more beautiful during the lavender season.

The photo shows a view of the lake and Mount Fuji from the bus on the way back to lunch at bus stop number 11 in front of the Kachi Kachi Ropeway Station. After lunch, we went back to the hotel to get our luggage and took the bus to buy bus tickets back to Tokyo at Kawaguchiko Station. We got on the 2 pm bus and arrived in Shinjuku after about two hours. We went shopping and didn't check into the hotel until almost 8 pm. It was a very tiring day.
March 1, 2018
The first stop of the day is the Imperial Palace. There are many stations to reach the palace, but due to limited time, we chose to go to Hibiya Station (Ho7) Exit B6. Upon arriving at the station, we were greeted by the view of the Nijubashi Bridge with the palace in the distance. The reflection of the bridge on the water resembles a pair of glasses, hence the name "Eyeglasses Bridge".
In the same area, there is a public park with a cherry blossom garden that is about to bloom and a monument to Kusunoki Masashige, an important nobleman and samurai during the Kamakura period.
Meiji Shrine / Harajuku
From C03 Meiji-jingumae Station, take Exit 2. Walk back in the opposite direction and you will find a bridge over the railway tracks. Cross the bridge and you will reach the entrance of Meiji Shrine. You will see a large open space and an entrance with large wooden pillars called torii. Walk further for about 10 minutes to reach the main shrine building. This shrine requires a long walk.
After paying respects at the shrine, we walked back the way we came to continue shopping in Harajuku. The journey is not difficult. From Meiji Shrine, walk back the way you came. I emphasize the original path because we got lost too. Once you reach the subway station, cross the street and you can start shopping.
If you haven't had your fill of shopping, head over to Shibuya. To get there, take the subway to Shibuya Station, G1 exit, Hachiko exit (I think it's exit 8). As you exit the station, you'll see the Hachiko statue and the Shibuya Crossing.

March 2, 2018
Today, we went out at 9:30 am to wait for the store to open because most stores open at 10:00 am.
The first place we visited was TOKYO SKYTREE. To get there, we took the train to SKYTREE Station (A20) and exited at Exit B3. When we arrived, we didn't do much except take pictures of the tower, use the restroom, and then leave.
Shopping at Ameya-Yokochō Market and Takeya Building
Travel Directions:
- Take the Ginza Line to Ueno-hirokoji Station (G15).
- Walk towards Naka-Okachimachi Station (H16), Exit 3.
- Upon exiting the station, you will see the Takeya Building (purple building) as shown in the picture.
- To reach Ameya-Yokochō Market, cross the street at the subway station (Family Mart is on the opposite side) and walk straight.
- You will soon see a Uniqlo building; Ameya-Yokochō Market is directly across from it.
Shopping:
We quickly shopped at the market and returned to the hotel to collect our luggage at 1:30 PM.
