The journey begins with…

To reach Koh Yao Noi, you must first travel to Bang Rong Pier in Pa Klok, Thalang District. This pier serves as the departure point for ferries to Koh Yao. Upon arrival, purchase your ticket for Koh Yao Noi. Two types of vessels are available: wooden boats (120 baht/trip) and speedboats (200 baht/trip). Ferries depart approximately every hour.

(When the sky is beautiful and the water is clear, let's go on a boat trip to an island.)
When the tickets are ready, we wait until the time is near. When the boat leaves, we stand ready to board.

The speedboat journey from Bang Rong Pier to Manoh Pier takes approximately 20-25 minutes.

🚕 Take a shared taxi and tell the driver you are going to the market. It costs 40 baht per person. (There will be shared taxis driven by local villagers waiting for tourists who have not booked a car with their accommodation.) When you arrive at the pier, there will be shared taxis parked.

"Where are you going, daughter?"
"To the market, sir."
"Get in, get in, let's go." You can get in any taxi and the driver will take you to the market.

Upon arriving at the market on Koh Yao Noi, rent a motorbike (Bang Lee's shop charges 250 baht per day) or call for pricing inquiries at 0896545354. Once you have your motorbike, stop by to fill up the tank. The island only has hand-pumped gas stations, not the large pump stations, giving it a classic look.

I thoroughly enjoyed riding my motorbike on Koh Yao Noi. The scenery along the way was diverse, alternating between stretches of coastline, rubber plantations, and rice paddies. It felt like I was experiencing all the island's landscapes in one ride. My destination was the accommodation I had booked online, located on the Tha Khao side. To get there, I passed by Pa Sai Beach and Klong Jark Beach.

"Klong Jak Beach" is located next to "Pa Sai Beach" on the eastern side of Koh Yao Noi.

As I drove along Khlong Chak Beach, the stunning azure sea captivated me, prompting me to pull over and admire its beauty. The weather was perfect, with clear skies and sunshine, further enhancing the beauty of the ocean. The beach was relatively uncrowded, offering a tranquil atmosphere. The area is dotted with resorts and villas, providing a variety of accommodation options.

Cafe Kantary Koh Yao Noi

Driving along, admiring the sea. My body craved coffee, but this was my second time on Koh Yao Noi. I told my friends as soon as we arrived on the island that we would go for coffee with a million-dollar view at Cafe Kantary Koh Yao Noi, because the first time I was there, I didn't spend enough time at the cafe.

Accommodation Koh Yao Seaview Bungalow

(The scenic rubber plantation road around the island) Then, after having our fill of coffee and pizza, we drove on to Ban Tha Khao, where the gang would be staying for the night.

As you approach the entrance of the "Six Senses" hotel, the road will gradually turn into a rubber plantation. Look for a large sign on the right-hand side indicating the entrance to the accommodation. Turn into the soi (small road) at the sign.

Upon entering, you will see rows of wooden houses on stilts, followed by the sea directly in front of the accommodation. Without hesitation, my friends and I headed to explore the beach, where swings were tied to trees in perfect harmony.

After checking in with the owner of Koh Seview Bungalow, who was waiting to welcome guests, we received our room keys and were escorted to our accommodations. The property features a swimming pool and is surrounded by lush vegetation.

Upon entering the room, you will be greeted by a large bed. The bathroom is spacious and well-equipped with toiletries (towels, soap, shampoo). The room also has a refrigerator, TV, fan, and strong Wi-Fi.
**** The price of accommodation at Koh Yao Seaview starts from around 900 - 2,500 baht, depending on the season and promotions offered by the accommodation and leading booking websites.****
Fortunately for the gang, they found a promotion on the website and got a price in the hundreds.

The beach in front of the accommodation offers views of Tha Khao Pier, a pier accessible by foot from Krabi.

After resting, we told our friends that we would go find a rice field and have dinner there. We had to drive to the Na Thon side, Ban Nam Chod, which is on the opposite side of the river from our accommodation in Tha Khao. We drove past Pa Sai Beach, where the tide was low and children were starting to play on the sand.

"Haad Pa Sai," a beach approximately 500 meters long, is situated on the eastern side of Koh Yao Noi. The atmosphere along the beach is shaded by trees, with resorts and bungalows of various levels and prices available. There are also beachfront restaurants, and in the evenings, the area comes alive with restaurants that double as bars, catering to tourists.

"Namm Natawn"

We will drive back the same way to the market and follow the Suan Chalermprakiet Ko Yao Noi - Saphan Ton Du route. It will be a smooth road along the mangrove forest on one side and a vast rice field on the other. This side is mostly rice fields. Drive about 1.9 km. If you go from Suan Chalermprakiet, you will reach Lan Rim Le restaurant first. Look for the gravel road on the right-hand side. Our destination this time is to try a new restaurant, "Nam Na Ton".

Upon entering, you will be greeted by natural-style accommodations nestled amidst rice fields, followed by the restaurant area.

Newly opened restaurant "Namm Natawn" on Koh Yao Noi offers a delightful dining experience amidst a lush rice paddy surrounded by mountains. The menu features a variety of dishes and freshly brewed coffee, catering to diverse preferences.

After parking, we were mesmerized by the lush green rice fields. Turning around, we were surrounded by a vast expanse of rice paddies. Inhaling the fresh scent of rice, we walked across a wooden bridge that stretched through the fields, leading to a wooden building that housed a restaurant. A few wooden tables awaited customers who could enjoy their meals and coffee while admiring the scenic rice fields.

Upon arrival, we immediately secured a table, luckily there was one available. With seats secured, we began ordering food. As it was already evening, we opted to skip coffee and focus on savory dishes. While waiting for our food, we relaxed and enjoyed the view of the rice fields. The accommodation at "Nam Naton" is almost complete, which will surely be a delightful experience, especially considering the serene island atmosphere.

This is all we ordered for today.

- Tom Yum Seafood

- Seaweed salad with large, fresh prawns.

- Shrimp paste chili dip with blanched vegetables

The sun began to set, making the light at this time very beautiful.

As we ate our fill, the light began to dim and the streetlights flickered on. Looking back at the restaurant, the soft glow of the setting sun painted a beautiful scene.

After leaving "Num Na Thon", we stopped by the market to grab some of the island's famous desserts before heading to bed. The atmosphere at night was incredibly peaceful, with locals sitting outside enjoying roti and tea.

The roti is incredibly delicious, clean, and offers a wide variety of toppings. You must visit the "Roti Chaw Koh" shop. If you are traveling to Koh Yao Noi, you should not miss trying the roti at this shop. It is quite famous for its deliciousness and the unique and diverse roti menu that will dazzle you. Even the locals eat here a lot. There are seats on both the ground floor and the upper floor. Their roti is truly good, and the price is not expensive either.

Waking up early, I had to go out and find a cup of coffee to drink. I came to Ko Yao Yai and couldn't help but stop by this shop. I sat and sipped coffee comfortably in a relaxed style at Coffee Break, a small shop but with excellent quality coffee and affordable prices.
Opening hours are 07:30 - 17:00 and closed on Saturdays. The shop is easy to find, located opposite Ko Yao Yai Chaiphat Hospital.

After leaving the coffee shop, I checked out and took my bags back to the pier to catch the ferry back to Phuket. The weather was still as good as the day I arrived, so I stopped at a few beaches along the way. I wasn't in a hurry to get back, and I wanted to soak up the good vibes. On the way back to the pier, I decided to take a different route and stopped at Tha Khao Pier. I took another road, Tha Khao - Ban Nam Chod Sai Nai, and then went to the market to return the motorbike to Bang Lee's shop.

(Khlong Chak Beach has both rocky and sandy areas.)

Life on the Island

The sight of young children playing in the sand fills one with a sense of warmth.

The fishing way of life, when the fish are caught, the housewives will process the food, drying it to keep it for longer consumption.

The boat will arrive from Krabi at Tha Khao Pier.

Along the drive, you will see beachfront bungalows facing the ocean.

In this scorching weather, ice cream is a must-have to beat the heat.

Leaving the port area of Tha Khao, you drive up another road that leads to the market. Passing through Ban Nam Chod, you enter a different atmosphere of rubber plantations, palm groves, and fruit orchards, which alternate with rolling hills. As you reach the flatlands, you begin to see rice fields, filled with lush green rice plants, a sight that is truly pleasing to the eye.

Bidding farewell to the tranquil shores of Koh Noi Yai, a place where life unfolds at a leisurely pace. Returning the rented motorbike, Bang Lee instructed us to simply park it at the pier, leaving the key in the ignition. His son would collect it later. This epitomizes the island's charm, where trust and security prevail.

Arriving at the pier around 1:30 PM, we boarded the speedboat for the 2:00 PM departure. While waiting, we admired and envied the peaceful and simple lives of the islanders. Around the pier area in Manoh, there were fish cages.

From the pier at Manoh, you can see the headland of Koh Yao Yai.

Cage fish and lobster farming as a profession in the sea around Koh Yao.

Two days and one night on Koh Yao Noi passed by so quickly. I wish I could stay here longer. This small, peaceful island is perfect for relaxation and still retains its traditional way of life. The islanders are friendly and welcoming. "Koh Yao Noi" is a charm that everyone who comes here will fall in love with.
