Pattaya is a well-known tourist location around the world. Both Thai and foreign visitors don’t miss visiting this city because of its diversity of things to do. When I can’t think of a place to visit near Bangkok, Pattaya is often the first place that comes to my mind. Having visited there many times, these are some of the attractions in this city.

  • Chi Chan Mountain

It is recognized as one of the landmarks of Pattaya. Many tourists take pictures with the cliff carved with the image of Buddha. It was built from the vision of Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara because the beautiful mountain was being destroyed. To save the mountain near the Wan Yan Sang Wararam Woramahawihan temple, he had the idea of carving the image of Buddha to create a sacred place for Buddhism. The Buddha is in the attitude of subduing Mara like the Nawaratchabopit Buddha in the Lanna-Sukothai style. The Buddha carving is 130 meters tall in total. King Rama IX of Thailand named the Buddha “Maha Wajira Uttamopassasda” which means “ The Buddha is the enlightened prophet like Maha Wajira”

The parking is so convenient that I decided that visiting in the morning is better even though the sky won’t be as pretty as in the evening.
