Hello, this time I will take you to visit Mae Kampong.

Speaking of "Mae Kampong", who knows it? Many people may not know it yet.

What is there to do in "Mae Kampong"?

16/05/2016

This place is for people who are "heartbroken" to come and rest their hearts. Oops, not that!!!!!

To be honest, there's nothing here but peace and quiet. If that's what you're looking for, then you've found it.

Here

There are homestays available.

It is peaceful and has cool weather all year round.

There is a time that walks very slowly, with a chill vibe.

There are waterfalls and beautiful viewpoints.

Simply put, I came here to relax and do nothing but eat and sleep. 5555

Let's refresh our lungs a bit.

Just walking around and letting the dogs chase you in the village is worth it for coffee or cake lovers. There are many shops to choose from.

The highlight of this place is that most houses are next to the stream. The crystal-clear water allows you to jump right in. The houses are seamlessly integrated with nature.

The water is available all year round. I went during the hot season, but it rained. The morning temperature was around 20 degrees Celsius.

Hey, I just wanted to say that if anyone has a day or two free, they should come and check it out. It's amazing, you have to try it.

The village has excellent management. All accommodations are homestays, with approximately 20 houses.

It is recommended to visit on weekdays, as there will be significantly fewer people.

I've talked a lot. Like before, my post focuses on pictures. The rest, please enjoy.

Focus on the atmosphere

This is a grocery store that sells almost everything.

This restaurant has the most delicious papaya salad ever! If you're ever in the area, be sure to stop by.

Him Huai Restaurant, Uncle Putt, Aunt Pung, also has cakes. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who wants to take pictures.

In the shop.

After leaving the shop, I went for a walk.

Next, let's find a place to stay. The one I've been eyeing is the Samran Chon Homestay.

Just a little further and you'll be there. The accommodation here is right next to the stream. There are many places to relax and listen to the sound of the waterfall.

We are sleeping in this room. The room name is November.

After finishing the bed, I went on a trip. I heard that there is a waterfall in the village.

The waterfall is only about 1 km away. There are 3 levels to this waterfall, not very big, with areas for swimming.

Some pictures here.

After a walk at the waterfall

We continue to Kiew Fin, located in Jae Son National Park, which is the border area between Chiang Mai and Lamphang provinces.

It is about 4 km from Mae Kampong Waterfall, which is not very far, but the road is quite steep. Those who are not familiar with the road should be careful.

This is a small viewpoint before going up to the top.

I found the way up. It's not too tiring to walk to the top.

We have reached the peak, from here you can watch both the sunrise and sunset.

After descending from Kiew Fin, we decided to take another walk around the village to take some cool photos.

The day I went was a Monday, and some of the shops were closed and it was very quiet. I liked it.

Stop by the landmark for a bit, I'll be there soon.

This newly opened shop, called "Cat Doi", is located next to a postcard souvenir shop with beautiful postcards.

This restaurant serves made-to-order dishes.

Walk a little further and you will find Teddu Coffee Shop. This shop is located down in the stream.

Dip your feet in the water and enjoy a cup of fragrant tea.

I'm walking back to my accommodation now. I'm hungry.

My stomach started to growl, so I went back to my accommodation. Dinner was waiting for me.

Dinner is included in the accommodation fee. The owner is very kind and always asks if we want more food.

The food was so delicious and filling. I sat there eating while listening to the sound of the waterfall. Oh, it was so relaxing!

Not long after I finished eating, it started to rain and the weather cooled down quickly. It was very comfortable to sleep.

I woke up late today. It's so cold for May, it's like summer.

The temperature is around 20 degrees.

Morning atmosphere

This breakfast includes rice porridge, boiled eggs, and bananas. It's delicious, I must say.

Today I have an appointment at the Chom Nok Chom Mai restaurant. Yesterday, I was planning to stop by, but there were a lot of people.

Let's go to the waterfall first. We have to go early today. If we don't go, it's like we didn't come to Mae Kampong.

The highlight is the view of the houses in the village, which is about 500 meters from the accommodation.

I really like it, it's not crowded.

Thank you for the beautiful phone case from the page "Mother Vintage". Do you know it? Go and see it on Facebook (what's the connection?)

After that, I stopped by the temple for a bit before heading back.

You must stop by to pay respects at the church in the middle of the water at Wat Mae Kampong.

That's all for now. Thank you for following.

I apologize for any errors.

For travel

Google Maps makes navigation a breeze (from Chiang Mai city to Mae Kampong, a distance of 58 km. It takes about an hour from Chiang Mai city because once you enter the small road, the road has to go up a bit and is quite winding. But the road is very comfortable, no potholes at all. It's paved all the way. But you have to be careful about the narrowness.)

For those who do not have a private car, you can contact Samran Chon Homestay. They have someone to pick you up and drop you off from the city. As for the price, you will have to discuss it with them directly.

Updated on 20/10/2016.

But now there are buses to Mae Kampong.

Super convenient.
If you want to plan well, I recommend weekdays so you can really experience Mae Kampong.

The Mae Kampong route (from Chang Phuak) departs at 7:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
The return trip from Mae Kampong departs at 9:20 AM and 1:20 PM.

Fares from Chiang Mai

Go to San Kamphaeng Hot Spring 35 baht
Go to Mae Kampong Village 100 baht (must have 4 people or more, if less than 4 people, must pay 400 and then divide by the number of people)

For the super cheap price, you should go.

Feel free to ask me in the inbox.

For those who are visiting, please keep it clean and quiet.

When we travel, let's be good tourists. We all want it to stay this way and not change too much. We're afraid it will become like Chiang Khan or Pai, from what we've heard and seen. Let's help each other. #ForThailand

Thank you, Ben Samranchan Homestay

This trip I used the service of renting a car from Kintiew Rent A Car Chiang Mai. The service was excellent, the price was reasonable, and the car was very new.
