At the cusp of the rainy season's end and the onset of winter, many head north to admire blooming flowers and experience the cool air. I, however, choose to buck the trend, packing my camera and heading south to embrace the cool breeze of Prachuap Khiri Khan instead.

The journey began from Bangkok in the late evening. Along the way, we stopped to buy supplies and have dinner near Lotus Rama 2 before continuing our journey to Prachuap Khiri Khan province in one go. The distance was almost 400 kilometers, which took about 4 hours. We arrived at our destination around midnight.

As usual, I chose to stay at the Prachuap Beach Hotel (you can see the room from the review of Prachuap-Chumphon). Our travel destination today is Thap Sakae. I will be staying at Sunshine Paradise Resort. This trip is more about relaxation and eating than sightseeing. Hehe.

Prachuap Beach Hotel, accommodation last night.

Close to my accommodation, I came here for breakfast. This is Baan Mai Fish Noodle Restaurant.

While waiting for the noodles, I took a walk around the neighborhood to capture some photos of the houses.

The crispy chicken-filled pastry from Baan Mai Guay Teow Pla restaurant is a delightful snack to munch on. However, I did not have the opportunity to try it, so I cannot comment on its taste.

The seafood porridge has arrived.

Close-up zoom, the taste is good, the shrimp and squid are very fresh, sweet, I must say.

The Yen Ta Fo is equally delicious.

After a power breakfast, we wasted no time and drove to Khao Chong Krachok. Before heading to our accommodation in Thap Sakae, we decided to hike up Khao Chong Krachok. We had heard that the view from the top was breathtaking.

Looking back on the path I have walked.

The view of Ao Prachuap Bay and Khao Lom Muak is truly as beautiful as its reputation suggests.

A view of the Sarasin Bridge, also known as the "Fish Bridge" by locals, which stands in the middle of Prachuap Bay.

I'm worried she won't be able to walk up.

The pagoda atop Khao Chong Krachok was constructed at the behest of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit during their royal visit to the mountain.

The Bodhi tree at Wat Tham Khao Tao is a genuine descendant of the original Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya. It was a gift from His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch, Prince Vajirañāṇavongsa, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, to the people of Prachuap Khiri Khan. The tree was planted by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, a gesture of great kindness that will forever be remembered by the people of the province.

This panoramic view offers a glimpse of Khao Ta Mong Lai, though we unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to visit it this time. Even from afar, the scenery is breathtaking.

This viewpoint offers a stunning vista of Wat Thammakhanaram Worawihan, also known as Wat Khao Chong Krachok, the temple where we parked our vehicles.

My older sister is afraid of monkeys, so she hurried down first... I don't know if she walked like a monkey... Haha.

Departing from Khao Chong Krachok, we headed towards Khlong Wan, passing by the fish market where we stopped for a quick photo.

Upon arriving at Khlong Wa, I stopped to purchase provisions and refreshments, while also taking the opportunity to observe the local way of life. The people here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. When I inquired about directions or products, they were eager to assist and engage in conversation, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I truly felt the charm of the Khlong Wa community, and I left with a lasting impression.

Before leaving Khlong Wa, I stopped by Sasikan Pu Ma to buy seafood for dinner. At first, I wasn't sure if I should buy it because the shop didn't look very good. Was the seafood fresh and good?

Despite arriving without a reservation, I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the experience exceeded my expectations. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. The owner, a friendly and welcoming gentleman, engaged me in conversation, sharing interesting stories and anecdotes. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. The combination of fresh, high-quality ingredients, affordable prices, and the owner's warm hospitality makes it an exceptional dining experience.

Please note that the seafood options are somewhat limited. This is a common drawback of seafood restaurants in the Khlong Wa area, as they often lack a variety of ingredients such as blue crabs (black crabs and white crabs), mantis shrimps, spider crabs, and even certain types of shellfish. If you're planning to dine at a seafood restaurant in Khlong Wa, it's advisable to check the availability of your desired seafood items beforehand.

This place offers live blue crabs in various sizes.

The restaurant has a dining area at the back, where you can enjoy the view of the coconut grove.

The puppy couldn't remember the command, but it was very clingy. I wrestled with it while waiting for the food I ordered.

We have finally arrived at Thap Saka. The road leading to Sunshine Paradise Resort is a dirt road, so please drive slowly and carefully. The entrance is quite far ahead.

The atmosphere on the way to the resort.

We finally arrived at Sunshine Paradise Resort. It was already late in the evening by the time we got there.

Our room is a pool villa. As soon as we arrived and unpacked, we immediately took photos of the interior.

Entrance

The living room and dining table area. It seems there is a kitchen, but cooking is not allowed here.

From another angle, the entrance leads directly to the dining table.

The interior features a sink, drawers for storing plates, spoons, and forks, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment located below.

The living area features a sofa and a TV. The pool villas also have DVD players. I have brought several movies to watch.

The bedroom offers a view of our swimming pool and the ocean. However, the ocean view is not visible at night.

The door to the room can be rotated to face the other way, allowing for the television to be viewed from the room.

The bathroom here is incredibly spacious, so much so that you could even play sepak takraw in it.

The bathroom boasts a Jacuzzi bathtub, two sinks, and even two showerheads.

Bath supplies

The pool area is quite cool at night, so I'm just sitting here enjoying the sound of the waves. I'm planning to take a dip in the pool tomorrow.

It's dinner time. The menu comes from the crab of Sasikant, Khlong Whale.

The crab fried rice has a generous amount of crab meat.

This is a steamed seafood dish, not from the Sasikant restaurant, but from an aunt's shop in Khlong Wa. It costs 15 baht each, but it is still fragrant and delicious.

The highlight of the restaurant, Sasikan Poo-pen, is the Som Tam Poo Ma (spicy papaya salad with blue crab). However, it's a bit confusing why there is more blue crab than papaya salad. Nevertheless, the crab meat is incredibly fresh, sweet, and clear, as it's made with live crab. This dish is absolutely delicious and deserves a perfect score of 10 out of 10!

Another fresh and delicious dish is the seafood salad. The large shrimp are incredibly fresh and bouncy, and the squid is equally fresh.

This dish is amazing. The crab meat is firm and the curry powder stir-fry is delicious. Another dish is...

"Of course, there must be grilled crab and grilled squid. It's a pity there's no grilled shrimp, as the restaurant only has farmed shrimp. But even with just these, we couldn't finish it all. The food at Sasi's is truly fresh."

The size of the crab is just right, not too big, about 4 per kilogram.

Three words: fresh, sweet, and abundant. That's how I would describe the crab at Sasikan's restaurant.

Good morning. The morning atmosphere at Sunshine Paradise Resort.

Let's have breakfast in this building.

The dining room is not crowded today, so the resort has allowed guests to order from a set menu instead of the usual buffet. However, some items such as coffee, milk, water, and bread are still available for self-service.

This is a typical breakfast spread here.

The highlight of breakfast here is the shrimp congee, which is delicious.

In the morning, I went to pay respect to the Buddha and enjoyed the view of Ban Krut Beach. The temple is only 5 minutes away from my accommodation.

The Phra Maha Chedi Pakdi Prakat is a magnificent and intricately designed large-scale stupa built in the authentic Thai style. It was constructed as a testament to the unwavering loyalty of the Thai people to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). The stupa serves as a symbol of their collective devotion and was built as a royal merit-making project to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the King's reign. This revered landmark is a source of immense pride for the residents of Ban Krut and the Thai people nationwide. The stupa comprises five distinct levels.

The first basement level houses a large rainwater storage tank.

The second floor houses a multi-purpose hall and the office of the Maha That Chedi Pakdi Prakat Foundation.

The third floor is the sanctuary, with four Buddha statues in the four postures of the Iriya Btha in the center.

The fourth floor houses the ubosot, which enshrines the principal Buddha image, known as "Phra Phuttha Lilan Kanchanawapipit." The ubosot's windows feature stained glass depictions of King Rama IX's poem, "Phra Mahajanaka." The upper section displays 20 images of the king's royal monogram ("ภปร") and his personal emblem. The door panels are painted and gilded with images of Dvarapalas, standing angels, and giants supporting the platform.

The fifth floor houses the reliquary of the Lord Buddha, enshrined within a gilded teakwood pavilion placed upon a high marble base with projecting cornices on all four sides. At the center, a golden statue of the Buddha in the posture associated with the birthdate of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great is enshrined.

View of Ban Krut Beach

Upon entering the parking lot, you will encounter the Phra Buddha Kitisirichai, a stucco Buddha statue covered in gold leaf, crafted in the Gandhara style. The statue depicts the Buddha in a meditative posture, with a lap width of 10 meters, a height of 13.82 meters, and a base height of 4.18 meters. The construction of this statue was a collaborative effort between the temple, the monastic community, and the people of Prachuap Khiri Khan province, who were all deeply moved by the boundless grace and kindness of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. This shared sense of devotion and gratitude inspired them to unite in creating this magnificent monument to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty's 60th birthday on August 12, 1992.

Before checking into our accommodation, we stopped for lunch at Pla Too Seafood.

The atmosphere at Ban Krut Beach on weekdays is relatively peaceful and quiet, devoid of tour groups and tourists.

The grilled tiger prawns I've been craving have arrived, but they're not very big.

Deep-fried cottonfish with fish sauce, firm texture, fresh as well.

This soft-shell crab with garlic has a rather unremarkable flavor, but it is fresh and the taste is acceptable.

This dish is a rich and concentrated shrimp and orange sauce.

The woman tasted the food while complaining.

Back to the accommodation to prepare for a swim in the private pool...yay!

The beach in front of Sunshine Paradise Resort is very quiet and private.

I would like to explore the resort area this evening.

Let's try some unusual beers. I don't know what kind of beer this is, but I'd like to try a little bit. I snuck out to have a drink with my boss.

The taste is peculiar.

For dinner, we ordered food from the resort.

This dish is a young jackfruit salad, but I don't think the taste is good. I wouldn't recommend it.

This dish is delicious. If you are considering ordering from the resort's menu, I highly recommend the grilled pork with lime.

Another dish that I really like and is very delicious is Pad Kee Mao spaghetti. This is another menu that I would like to recommend.

Another morning, waking up to the sunrise. The name of the resort, Sunshine Paradise, truly lives up to its name. The sunrise here is breathtaking, and you can watch it from the comfort of your bed.

Enjoy the sunrise by the pool of your room.

Departing from the resort before entering Hua Hin, we made one more stop to visit the aquarium at Wao.

There are no people on weekdays, it is very quiet.

I saw the staff cleaning the cabinet.

Wao Ko Beach

Departing from Hwa Ko, we made a stop at the Singkhon border checkpoint.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

The antique shop is truly ancient.

Burmese Gemstone Market

There are piles of vegetables for sale.

Leaving Singkhon checkpoint, I drove straight to Hua Hin. Tonight, I'm staying at Baan Napa Hua Hin, which my sister booked on Agoda for 550 baht per night. It's a decent place, clean enough and worth the price. I arrived on the day the Thai national team played Myanmar in the Suzuki Cup semi-final. I watched the game until my sister started complaining about being hungry. Haha.

Strolling through the Hua Hin Night Market and searching for a delicious dinner.

We will be having dinner at Goti tonight.

This morning, I woke up late and didn't leave my accommodation until noon. Before heading home, I decided to grab a bite to eat and do some sightseeing. For lunch, I stopped by Jeranin Pattani Dim Sum in Hua Hin, which is famous for its delicious dim sum.

This bowl of bak kut teh is delicious. It's perfect for a hangover.

The restaurant offers three dipping sauces.

The southern Thai rice salad is delicious. I recommend it to anyone who comes to eat.

After recharging, stop by one more place before heading home.

Breathtaking Panoramic Views of Hua Hin from Khao Hin Lek Fai

This passage describes the stunning panoramic views of Hua Hin from Khao Hin Lek Fai. The text highlights the presence of six viewpoints scattered across the mountaintop, offering visitors unobstructed vistas of the city from all angles. This allows tourists to capture the beauty of Hua Hin from various perspectives, creating a truly immersive experience.

The view is spectacular, offering a panoramic vista of Hua Hin city.

This concludes our trip to Prachuap Khiri Khan. This trip was mainly focused on eating and sleeping. If I have the chance to return to Prachuap again, there are many other places that I would like to visit and will definitely come back to explore them all. See you again on the next trip. Thank you.
