The sound of the alarm clock woke me up at 5:00 am. I got up, took a shower, got dressed, and drove out of Sam Phraya Beach. It was still dark, and I was the only one on the road. The campsite I was going to was only 5 kilometers from the Khao Daeng viewpoint, a 20-minute drive. Khao Daeng is only 400 meters high, and it takes about 30 minutes to hike to the top. But the view from the top is worth it. It's one of the most beautiful sunrise spots I've ever seen. The hike is easy, and the views along the way are stunning.
