February 25-26, 2017
Hello fellow travelers, the end of February is approaching and it will be summer soon. It seems that the mountain team is in trouble. Where should they go?
Feeling hot? Come on, let's go to the beach in Phetchaburi! Not Cha-am, Puk Tian, or Had Chao, though.
Jack will take you to see the sea of fog. What? Sea of fog in Phetchaburi during the hot season? Yes, yes, yes, yes! What's so surprising?
With the onset of the hot season, the north has lost its appeal for Jack, who believes that the fog will disappear.
However, I wanted to see the fog, so I remembered that Phetchaburi, my hometown, has fog even in the hot season.
I visited a long time ago when I was a student. I remember it being very beautiful and I would like to go back again.

There is another viewpoint, Km 36, which is closer to the sea of mist than Km 30.
Here is a summary of the key information.
This trip is not for everyone, as it requires a 4WD vehicle and an overnight stay, costing 2,000 baht. Going alone is not an option.
To find members to share the cost of the car, it is necessary to first explain where the members come from, as this is a trip that brings together people who do not know each other.
I met one person, Oat, whom I already knew from previous garbage collection and trip activities. Oat was the only person I knew well on the entire trip.
In order to share the cost of transportation, the group posted a message on a social media page. They planned to travel from Bangkok to the mountain together.

One day, Mr. Thong messaged our page, saying he was interested in joining the trip.
The group has been to the top many times, but they have never hiked to the waterfall. This time, they want to hike to the waterfall.
Finally, the team led by P'Thong arrived with 3 people: P'Thong, Ajarn Top, and P'Oak, along with a 4WD vehicle.
We didn't need to rent a car because Jack brought another person, Biu, whom we had never met before and only interacted with on Facebook.
This trip consists of 6 people. Now that you know the background of the members, let's get going.
On the morning of Saturday, February 25, 2017, we departed from Bangkok early.
We will meet the Thong group at the Ban Krang camp to climb Khao Pha Nen Thung around 13:00.
Meet around noon and stop by the fresh market at Tha Yang to buy supplies.
Fresh produce can be purchased at the Kaeng Krachan district office. There are many shops selling a variety of goods. If you are missing any supplies, you can stop by and buy them.
There are two routes to Ban Krang Camp. You can choose to pass through Kaeng Krachan District or not. You can check the routes on Google Maps.
Before reaching Ban Krang Camp, you will encounter the Sam Yot checkpoint. You can pay and register here.
Payment for 3 people (100 x 3) + 1 car (30) + 1 night's accommodation (30 x 3) = 420
This is where you can get your national park stamp. The Three Peaks Checkpoint is also the starting point for your journey. Many groups park here and then hire a car to take them up.
After registering and paying the fee, our group drove to Ban Krang Camp.
Parked at Baan Krang, waiting for the Thong group, who are running very late. Hehe, due to some unforeseen circumstances. We are waiting with bated breath to see if they will make it in time for the next round.
In conclusion, we ascended the mountain in the late afternoon, around 2:30 PM. Coincidentally, it began to rain, but fortunately, the precipitation was not heavy. Due to concerns about our camera getting wet, we were unable to capture the scenery along the ascent.
The road is flanked by a precipice, with lush green forests and mountains encircling it. The path gradually ascends the mountainside, offering fresh air.
The dirt road becomes a gravel path when it encounters the first rain. We can smell the fragrant scent of the earth. Oh, I love it so much!
This is a picture taken on the way back.
Upon reaching the summit, we swiftly sought a suitable location to pitch our tent.
First of all, it is very important that we take a picture.
and cook
Jack was the only woman on this trip.
The responsibility of cooking and household chores definitely falls on someone other than Jack.
It must be the guys' job, hahaha. Everyone looks so professional.
Jack always sits there to cheer you on. He reads along. On other days, Jack has the same duties. Hehe.
The first menu that surprised us was Chef Top's vegetable soup. Vegetable soup is not strange, but the pot is strange.
It appears to have a mystical and historical significance.
Is this pot something you bring on every trip? Yes, haha. Isn't it strange? Who else brings a pot like this into the forest?
After setting up the tent and starting to cook, it wasn't long before the rain came down again.
Within minutes, with everyone pitching in, all of our belongings were moved into the pavilion near the officer's post.
We were relieved. The pavilion was ours, and we continued to cook together.
There's a chance we might see a sea of fog if the rain stops. The fog is already starting to form.
If the rain continues, we will have thick fog at night, preventing us from stargazing and potentially hindering our early morning elephant hunt.
It doesn't matter. Let nature take its course. Just being up here in nature is worth it.
Today's menu highlight is the succulent grilled pork with spicy jaew dipping sauce, expertly prepared by Chef Oat. This dish is a must-try, guaranteed to tantalize your taste buds.
The rain gradually subsided until it stopped completely. Today's atmosphere was fantastic. Our fellow travelers were cheerful, relaxed, and slightly dazed.
Why do you get along so well? Wait, are you really just getting to know each other?
Another surprising thing that Professor Top did for us was that normally when people camp and pitch tents,
While the guitar may be the most iconic instrument, our band surpasses its limitations.
Professor Top brought his viola to play for us, entertaining us. Sometimes he also brings his violin.
Similar to other places, loud noises are prohibited here. At night, if the staff sees us playing the guitar, we might get scolded.
However, this is just a casual gathering. No one will complain because we are playing softly and the music is not loud.

The humid air after the rain stopped was refreshing and invigorating. The mist hung in the air, creating a hazy atmosphere.
The image looks like a fog kicking the nose.
After finishing the meal, we sat in a circle to eat. We also enjoyed the view at kilometer 30.
Thank you for the picture, P'Thong.
He got up to take a picture and then came back to continue eating.
The air shimmered with an orange glow, and wisps of mist danced playfully along the mountain slopes, creating a scene of awe and wonder.
We did not anticipate encountering evening mist during the sunset. We wondered if the sky would explode with color.
Unable to resist, Jack and Oat put down their plates of rice right where they were sitting and grabbed their cameras to capture the scene.
However, our current location is too far away, the trees are blocking the view, and it's not a good angle. Looking at Oad and the person standing next to him, they said that the viewpoint is not far from here.
The view in front of me is breathtaking, worth leaving my meal behind to run and see.
The sun has set, and we didn't get to see it today. However, we were able to capture some beautiful light before it disappeared.
Satisfied with the photos, it's time to head back to the pavilion and continue eating. 55555
In the early evening, I felt uneasy because there was a lot of fog. There were no stars in the sky because the glue sniffers had pulled them all down. Just kidding!
The sky is starless because of the fog.
But at night, it becomes a night full of stars, which I imagine as your face.
The stars are beautiful. I'll see you at 4 am. I'll be waiting for you at the Milky Way. The later it gets, the colder it gets where we're sitting. It's a drafty spot.
Despite the cool evening air, the campsite was a welcoming space for newfound acquaintances. As night fell, we gathered to listen to the music of Professor Top.
Engaging in a thoughtful exchange of perspectives.
The humor falls flat, but it's still funny in a way. The essence of the joke is unclear, but the awkwardness is amusing.
The evening concluded with stargazing before everyone retired for the night.
Jack, Oat, and Biew will go elephant hunting at 4:30 AM. Thung, Top, and Oak said they will wake them up at 6:30 AM. They wish they could go elephant hunting together.
Let's end the night here.
On Sunday, February 26, 2017, at 4:00 AM, Jack, Oat, and Biu woke up without hesitation.
This person is unable to sleep. Instead of feeling drowsy, they are wide awake. Is this how you feel when you work? Answer me!
After 4 a.m., the three of us walked to the viewpoint. At this time, the sea of mist was already waiting for us. In fact, it has been waiting since last night, and it can still be seen from the pavilion.
The sky is full of stars. Thank you for this picture, P'Oat.
The Milky Way was visible to the naked eye. This trip was amazing. It was the first time I saw the Milky Way in my life.
Let's see Jack's elephant.
The camera angle started parallel to the ground and then gradually tilted upwards.
After taking enough photos of the view, we took some photos of ourselves.
Thanks to Oat for this photo.
The Milky Way shots from this set are still dark. We went down to the pavilion first because the officer asked us to clear the area early in the morning.
We will go up to see the fog at dawn.
After moving our belongings from the pavilion to our original base, it is now light. We haven't made breakfast yet.
Let's go see the fog first. We are still at km 30. Let's see the fog together.
A wider perspective.
There are only a few angles here.
Done taking photos from the same angles.
Selfie time! Photo by Biew.
The plan was to continue to kilometer 36, then come back for breakfast and pack lunch to eat at the waterfall. Another great plan.
Early Sunday mornings are peak hours, with heavy traffic and many people on the road.
We changed our plan to eat breakfast and prepare lunch to eat at the waterfall.
And then I went out in one go. In the morning, the fog was still there. Well, it's good like this, I don't have to meet a lot of people.
Return to the campsite.
Everyone is diligently performing their duties.
Professor Top is casting a spell, summoning all the delicious flavors of the world to reside within his magical soup pot.
The primary responsibility assigned to Jack for this trip was...
Pluck the holy basil leaves.
Thank you for the picture, P'Thong.
While almost all the other tents have packed up and left, we are still taking it easy and cooking our dinner.
"How many nights have you been here?" the officer asked with a chuckle. "It seems like you might be staying another night."
It was already very late by the time we finished our tasks. Let's head to Km 36 and Tothip Waterfall.
Where did all the cars that were parked here earlier go? 5555
"The green is so beautiful, if you want to feel refreshed, look at the green. If you want to have one true love, look at us. Are you crazy?"
Arrived at Km. 36.
The fog cleared before we arrived, leaving us with a breathtaking view of the mountains and a clear blue sky.
Let's take a selfie! Thanks for the photo, Biew.
Another photo. Thank you, P'Thong, for the photo.
Continue driving along the road, which leads to Tothip Waterfall. After parking, you will need to hike for approximately 4 kilometers.
When we went, only the 5th floor and another floor (the number of which I don't remember) were open to the public. The signs were faded, so I couldn't tell which floor it was.
The path is clear and we can walk on our own without a guide.
Wait, where is this person going? In their hand, they are holding a pot of rice and side dishes. It seems like they are going to deliver food to their mother at the rice field.
This is a very relaxed hiking outfit. Looking at it again, it looks like a Boy Scout leader, holding a forked stick. Haha.
Follow the sergeant, and you won't get lost.
A section of the path, which could be called the "Butterfly Grove," is teeming with butterflies, creating a fluttering and whimsical atmosphere. Credit to P'Thong for the photo.
The path continues with a steep incline, gradually descending.
The man stood there with wide eyes, staring down.
Thank you for the picture, P'Oat.
The problem lies with our rice cooker. Biu, you are the guardian of the rice cooker. Our hopes rest on you! 5555
Jack walked ahead and heard a "crack" sound, like metal hitting something.
Ah, the sound of the rice cooker! Let's set the rice cooker free on its rope. This trip will take the field kitchen on an adventure.
We then encountered a faded sign at a fork in the road. The sign offered no guidance, leaving us to decide whether to proceed left or right.
We opted to take the right path first, as we spotted a waterfall nearby. We encountered this level, which appears to be the fifth.
Oops, caught on camera! 555 Thanks for the picture, Oat.
The forest is beautiful, the sky is clear, it's really clear. Look at the water bottle.
The water level is low. If it were higher, it would be much more impressive.
There are a lot of butterflies.
We witnessed another innovation: a waterproof notebook. When Brother Thong threw it into the water and then picked it up to write on it, we were amazed. We had never seen anything like it before.
From this waterfall, we walked back the way we came, separating at the fork we mentioned earlier. We will then descend on the right side.
The path continued to descend steeply, and we encountered this layer, the number of which remains unknown.
The waterfall is not very high, but it flows down in a series of cascades from the 5th floor.
We can play in the water. We had lunch here, which raises the question: why didn't we bring our lunch in bags? Haha. It's like we came for a picnic.
The soup in the magic pot of Master Top has a very well-balanced flavor.
After being stewed for 48 hours, the vegetables are so tender that they practically melt in your mouth upon contact.
To cool the Coke down, they submerged it in water.
After lunch, they relaxed, cleaned up, and the young men had fun playing in the water. Jack decided to sit and watch.
It's time to go. It's about half past two. We have to go back now, or we'll miss our turn. Was it downhill on the way here?
The way back was a real struggle, it was all uphill! I almost cried. Oh man, I'm so bad at climbing hills.
We stayed for several rounds, my legs are tired. Does anyone else not feel tired? These guys are really strong.
This person is extremely exhausted. They did not prepare mentally or physically for the challenging terrain they encountered on this trip.
This trip was the most relaxing one we've had, driving to see the fog and just chilling out.
The leisurely trip instantly transformed into a challenging hike as soon as we embarked on the waterfall trail. It seems we're not capable of enjoying a relaxed outing, are we?
We stopped here for a while to take a group photo. Thanks to Oat for the picture.
The trees here are huge!
The feeling is like walking forever without reaching the destination. I'm so tired.
The car came to a stop in the parking lot, and Jack's voice boomed out, "We're here!"
The total walking distance is approximately 8 kilometers.
Before getting on the bus back, let's take a picture with the sign. Thanks to Oat for the picture.
If we had taken the picture before we started walking, our faces would have been brighter.
Everyone loves Jack, really. The foot-lifting was just acting for laughs, or maybe everyone secretly wanted to kick him. Haha.
Upon returning to the campsite, it was remarkably empty, with only a handful of tents scattered across the vast expanse.
It is observed that the crowd is larger on Saturday nights. If you want to avoid the crowds, it is recommended to avoid Saturday nights.
Turning to our situation, we hurriedly packed our belongings, dismantled our tent, and cleared the area. Notably, our group was the last remaining from the 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM session.
We made the most of our time at Khao Phaneun Thung before 5 pm.
We maintained the same standard throughout the trip, with our arrival and departure times being close to exceeding the allotted time.
While others were packing up their tents, we were leisurely preparing our meal. We tend to be slow and easygoing.
On the way, Oak stopped the car to show me a monkey in the treetops. It was incredibly cute!
The camera lens was not wide enough to capture the scene, but we have captured the memory in our minds.
The plane landed safely at Camp Ban Khang Airport around 5 pm. 5555 What's wrong with you?
At this point, we are dividing the property. The most important thing to remember is not to bring Master Top's pot with you. It seems to have something in it.
And so, it was time for us to bid farewell and go our separate ways.
Soybean was secretly photographed. Hehe. Thanks for the picture, P'Thong.
I must say, thank you to the young men who took such good care of Jack.
For Jack, good company is an essential ingredient for a successful trip.
This trip was perfectly balanced, just like the flavors of the food.
It's a pleasure to meet you all. Thank you everyone for your friendship.
Biew, the child who delivers rice, Oat, the top chef, Tong, the hammock expert, Top, the teacher with the magic pot, and Oak, the one with the sweet smile.
