With limited time, only 3 days, and unsure of where to travel, Malaysia, a neighboring country, often comes to mind. However, frequent visits can lead to boredom. This trip aims to find new perspectives and photo opportunities in unexplored areas, while revisiting familiar sights along the way.
This review attempts to showcase new angles…for me…mixed with old angles but at a new time for you to enjoy….follow me!
The plane arrived at KLIA2 in the late afternoon. After clearing immigration, it was almost dusk. We decided to spend the first night at the Tune Hotel at the airport to avoid further travel. The next day, we would rent a car at the airport for convenience. We could also return the car at the airport on our return trip.
View of the airport from the window of the Tune Hotel.
The next morning, we had breakfast at the accommodation, which was included in the room rate. Then, we walked to the airport to pick up the car we had booked online at the counter.
We went in a small car, just the two of us. After picking up the car, we headed straight to see some beautiful mosques. I've been here many times, but I've never been to the Federal Territory Mosque, also known as the Wilayah Mosque, which is 60km from the airport and located on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. Just search for the name and Google will take you there. Hehe.
Free admission.
The interior features convenient parking.
Exquisitely beautiful... I don't know why I've only just discovered it.
Visitors are welcome to enter the building. Please contact the staff inside for permission.
As the morning heat sets in, we head towards Kuala Lumpur. Our destination is Merdeka Square, a mere 6km from the mosque. I frequently visit this area and park my car for free at St. Mary's Church, conveniently located at the corner of the square.
Let's take beautiful photos at the Sultan Abdul Samad Building.
Walk behind the building, and you will find a small bridge leading to the iconic and familiar JAMEK Mosque. However, we will not be visiting the mosque that we see so often. Instead, we will be heading to the water fountain show at the confluence of the GOMBAK and KLANG rivers. These two rivers meet at the corner of the JAMEK Mosque, and this is where the RIVER OF LIFE water fountain show takes place.
Following the usual routine, we took a short walk around the area. We visited CENTRAL MARKET, KATSURI WALK, and PETALING STREET.
In the late afternoon, I decided to drive out in search of a new angle to photograph the Petronas Towers and KL Tower from a distance, a perspective I had not yet captured. Consulting Google Maps, I noticed a small lake situated north of the two towers.
The map indicates that TAMAN TASIK TITIWANGSA is 7km away, a 15-minute drive from our morning parking spot. Let's go check it out.
Driving into the park, you'll find a small lake with a pleasant atmosphere. People enjoy cycling around the lake.
The view of the Petronas Twin Towers and the KL Tower is stunning.
It's a pity that the sky was a bit overcast on the day I went. I walked around taking pictures and waited until evening, when I was able to capture the lights as well.
Before driving out to capture the same familiar angles,
Before checking into our accommodation, we had a late night out. The next day, we planned to explore Putrajaya.
