I had the opportunity to travel to Bangkok for business and was looking for affordable accommodation. I found Glur Bangkok Hostel, which offers Deluxe Dorm beds for 317 baht per night, accommodating two people and including breakfast. This translates to 158.50 baht per person, which is incredibly affordable. I took the BTS to Saphan Taksin station and walked a short distance into a soi to find the hostel. It was easy to locate. The next morning, I walked back to Saphan Taksin and took a boat to Tha Tien for 15 baht to visit Wat Arun, a popular destination among bloggers. Thai citizens do not have to pay an entrance fee, but they are required to wear long sarongs for modesty. The return boat trip also cost 15 baht. Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan is a temple dating back to the Ayutthaya period. Originally known as "Wat Jaeng," the temple underwent extensive renovations during the reign of King Rama II, making it the temple associated with his reign. After the renovations, it was bestowed the name "Wat Arun Ratchawararam." This stunning temple stands prominently along the Chao Phraya River and boasts the tallest prang in Thailand. The prang is believed to have been constructed during the Ayutthaya period. Its original height was approximately 8 wa. Later, King Taksin the Great intended to relocate the capital from Ayutthaya to Thonburi after successfully reclaiming independence in 1767. He traveled by water to find a suitable location for the new capital. Upon arriving at this temple at dawn, he renamed it "Wat Jaeng," which means "temple of the rising sun," symbolizing an auspicious omen for the relocation of the capital to Thonburi at the site of Wat Jaeng.

Glur Bangkok Hostel is open 24 hours a day. We can check in by ourselves. The beds are bunk beds, with about 8 beds in one room. The bathroom is shared. The price includes breakfast. Today we had green chicken curry. We chose to stay here for one reason: it's cheap!

Before heading to the pier, let's take some beautiful photos with the graffiti art.

Let's go to the pier.

We have arrived at Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan.

It's incredibly hot today. The clothes we're wearing are… and we're starving, so we have to go find a buffet to eat. Bye bye! ><
