After much deliberation, I decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and seek refuge in the mountains, forests, and mist of Phu Kradueng National Park. Without further ado, I packed my bags and headed to the bus station to book a ticket to Loei Province. The journey from Bangkok took approximately four hours, and I arrived at the Pha Nok Khao parking lot. Despite traveling solo, I anticipated meeting fellow travelers along the way. As expected, upon arriving at Pha Nok Khao around 4:30 AM, I encountered a considerable number of tourists disembarking from buses. I crossed the street to the renowned Je Kim shop, where I found a large crowd of people waiting to ascend the mountain. Relieved to no longer be alone, I boarded a shared songthaew that transported us to Phu Kradueng National Park, located approximately 15 kilometers away. The fare was 20 baht per person, or a flat rate for groups. Upon reaching the park entrance, I paid the entrance fee of 40 baht, tent rental fee of 250 baht, and porter fee of 30 baht per kilogram of luggage. With all arrangements settled, the moment of truth had arrived. Are you ready? Let's embark on our ascent to Phu Kradueng! Follow me... The first section (Sam Haek) was both tiring and breathless.
Sam Haek 555, just like its name, it made me tongue-tied... This is what they say, the road proves the horse, the distance from the service center should be about 1 km. It's tiring to play. The path at this point will be before reaching Sam Haek, it will be a steep path, quite a bit of energy is used up. After reaching Sam Haek, you can find food to recharge your energy. There are many things to eat, but the view here makes me feel less tired. Try looking around us. We continue our journey from Sam Haek onwards, it will be a flat path, we can walk and watch the birds and trees all the way. It's super chill, the air is cool and comfortable. After that, we will pass many different Sam Haek before reaching Lang Paen. It's tiring. It took me 5 hours to reach Lang Paen. 555 I'm not there yet. I have to walk from Lang Paen to Wangkaeng Field (Wangkaeng Tourist Service Center) another 3.5 km. There are two routes, the first route from Lang Paen heading to Wangkaeng, the second route turning left to watch the sunset at "Pha Mak Dook". Then go back to Wangkaeng. This line saves a bit, but I went to watch the sunset. I chose the first path, heading to Wangkaeng to prepare to choose a tent to sleep in first. It's almost evening. It took almost an hour to reach the tourist service center (Wangkaeng).
Upon arrival, we contacted the staff, selected our tent, and rented bedding. However, on the day I ascended, there were approximately 3,000 tourists on the mountain, resulting in a shortage of porters. We had to wait for our belongings to be carried up, but that's understandable. I chose a tent near the food court (we didn't have to carry food up, as there was enough for sale to tourists, although it might be slightly more expensive than down below). After a tiring climb, we reached the tourist service center and chose a spot to sleep under the stars. We relaxed, ate, showered, and prepared for our solo adventure on **Phu Kradueng**. The weather was very cold today, so I'm going to rest now. Tomorrow, I'll share some beautiful places on **Phu Kradueng**. Good night!
