The Wind Turbines of Dan Khun Thot

While many may not immediately recognize the name "Dan Khun Thot," the mention of its "wind turbine field" is sure to spark curiosity. Located in Ban Huai Bong, Dan Khun Thot and Theparak districts, this remarkable site boasts the "Huai Bong Wind Farm," the first large-scale wind power generation project in Thailand.

Comprising two phases, "West Huai Bong 2" and "West Huai Bong 3," the project features a total of 90 wind turbines spread across an expansive 1,000-acre plot. This impressive installation generates enough wind power to claim the title of Southeast Asia's highest producer.

In addition, the "Windmill Field" in Ban Huai Bong has been developed into a tourist attraction, attracting numerous visitors due to its cool climate, especially during the winter season. This is another reason why tourists flock to the "Windmill Field". Moreover, travelers passing by on Highway 2256 can witness the "Windmill Field" stretching as far as the eye can see.
