"If you are a nature lover, Doi Pui Luang is the perfect choice."
Located in Ban Huai Hee, Huai Pu Ling Subdistrict, Mueang District, Mae Hong Son Province, it takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to travel from the city center to the village (the road has been improved, making it easier to access). From the village, there are two hiking trails. The first trail starts from the end of the village and leads to the site of a plane crash, a distance of approximately 4 km. The second trail involves a short car ride followed by a 2 km hike to the accommodation.
I have been coming to this mountain every year since I was 8 or 9 years old. I am now 24 years old. Many people may wonder why I keep coming back.
I was born and raised in Mae Hong Son, which is conveniently located. Fortunately, my father is from Huai Hee village, where he was born and raised. As a result, I have relatives in this village, and I took the opportunity to visit them.
(Let's get down to business) For those who want to know about travel
In rural areas, such as Chiang Mai, you can take a Prem Pracha van to Mae Hong Son Transportation Center (if you have contacted them in advance, they will have a car to pick you up). They will take you up to the village. The cost is 600 baht per day for a porter, 700 baht per day for a guide, and 4,500 baht for a car (round trip).
If you have a private car, you don't need a 4x4 to get up there. Motorcycles can easily go up. The fuel cost for my car (CRC250L) to go up and down is only 1-2 bars. When we arrive at the village, we will need to prepare our luggage and things to prepare for the climb and overnight stay.
- Two people per tent, or you can bring your own tent as needed.
- Dry food rice (or you can buy fresh pork at the market before going up to the village)
- Personal belongings
- Flashlight
- Plate, spoon, glass, jug
- Drinking water
(The rest, such as lighters and field kitchens, will be carried by the leader. If anything is missing, you can inform the leader.)
My phone number is 0892617202 (Kit). I will coordinate with you. No problem.
Yes, that's right! Another thing, the best phone signal in this area is TrueMove and CAT (around the village and campsite, other networks wait until you reach the top of the mountain, haha).
The most impressive thing about this place is its height of 1731 meters above sea level, the highest in Mae Hong Son.
A Trip Worth Every Penny: Doi Pui Luang
This trip offers breathtaking views for a fraction of the cost, making it an incredible value. The winter months bring a magical touch, with a sea of fog stretching as far as the eye can see. The cool breeze carries the sounds of birds, monkeys, and other wildlife, creating a symphony of nature. At night, the sky explodes with countless stars (weather permitting). In the morning, thick fog blankets the mountaintop, offering 360-degree panoramic views. While the photos I've shared are beautiful, the real experience is even more stunning. Come and see for yourself why Doi Pui Luang will leave you wanting more.
"While some may view tourism as a frivolous use of leisure time, it is, in fact, a highly beneficial activity that can broaden one's perspective on life."
Thank you for watching.
