Hello, Captain Bo. "Adventure always accompanies travel."
For those with limited time and who find it inconvenient to hike up to see the sea of mist, this is the perfect solution. You can drive right up to the spot.
The Journey Continues: From Doi Pui Luang to Ja Bo
This passage continues the journey from Doi Pui Luang, as mentioned in the author's previous review. The starting point is Mueang Mae Hong Son district, where the author rented a motorbike for 250-300 baht per day. With a full tank of gas, the journey to Ja Bo, located approximately 60 kilometers from Mae Hong Son, took about an hour.
Upon arrival, we headed straight to Sergeant To's campsite, where we found a vacant bamboo platform. We rented the space and set up our own tents, paying only 100 baht per person (truly affordable accommodation). However, for those who haven't brought their own tents, there are options to rent: homestays for 300 baht per person or tents with bedding for 2-3 people at 500 baht. During the cold season, it's advisable to call and book in advance. As shown in Sergeant To's pictures above.
Personally, I am most impressed by the sea of fog in the morning. However, there is also a white mist that can be seen at night before going to bed. I recommend waking up early, as the fog does not last long. Last time, it had disappeared by 7 or 8 am. Don't miss this great opportunity!
