... "Phuket," the largest island in Thailand, is a dream destination for both Thais and foreigners. It's no surprise that one of the main reasons travelers come here is to experience the stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters. The island's southern charm and the abundance of beachfront accommodations make it a popular choice for tourists who want to be as close to the ocean as possible. But what if the accommodation isn't right on the beach? What could possibly entice tourists to stay there? The answer lies within this review.
...Kalima Resort & Spa Phuket, Kata Beach... is another resort that will answer these questions for guests. Since the resort is not located on the beach, what will make guests almost forget the beach?
...To avoid wasting time, let me leave you with some of my old work and then we can start our journey to "Kalima Resort and Spa".

... Kalima Resort & Spa Phuket is located on Phrabaramee Road, Patong Beach, Karon Beach. The resort is situated on a hill, so drivers should be careful when turning into the resort, as the road is slightly steep.
...Check-in is available at the usual time of 2:00 PM. Starting at the lobby, as seen in the picture, the area is spacious with a high, open ceiling that allows for good air circulation. The color scheme is decorated in natural brown wood tones, which is simple and easy on the eyes.
...The welcome drink came in an unusual shape, which was cool, but a bit difficult to drink. I had to make a funny face to drink it (lol...)
...The lobby area is not only a place to contact the counter, but also has other corners, both small shops for sipping coffee and convenience stores located at the front, all in the same area.
...On the other side of the lobby, there is a seating area where you can relax, wait for check-in/check-out, or simply hang out and unwind.
... It's a cozy corner. I myself have been sitting here playing games and working for quite a while now. It feels good to relax... Listening to the sound of the waterfall next to the decorated wall, watching people walk by, it's quite enjoyable...
...While waiting for the time to enter the room, I started by walking around to explore the different areas...
...As the resort is situated on a hill, as mentioned, all the rooms, restaurants, spas, swimming pools, and other facilities are located on the upper levels. If you can't picture it, imagine driving on a flat road and then turning uphill to find the parking lot. Then, you walk up to the lobby before continuing to other areas within the resort. The lobby is the lowest level. ...
...Upon walking up from the lobby, the first thing you encounter is a small swimming pool... Decorated and surrounded by the greenery of trees, interspersed with areas for sunbathing chairs and a poolside bar counter.
...The inner pool area might be a bit narrow, which would probably be suitable for children to play in this area... The front of the swimming pool has a wider and longer area, and from the front, you can see a beautiful view of the sea in front of you.
...The central area of the pond, as you can see, is also designed to be quite stylish, with a small bridge to walk across. As for the wooden planks used as walkways, I don't need to tell you how hot they get if you don't wear shoes on a sunny day like this.
...Tourists who come to stay relax in various ways, some sleep, some come to soak in the water and order cold drinks to sip... Seeing that, I can't help but feel a little envious... I'd like to have a sip too.
...The atmosphere is peaceful and quiet... The reason is that it is not located on the roadside and there is no beach... The hustle and bustle of people and traffic is too far to be heard because from this point it is roughly equivalent to being about 2 floors above the road in front... And it is also located deep inside, so it is not surprising that it is quiet and peaceful.
...On a day with beautiful skies and pleasant weather, everything looks good in photos. Some angles are even more inviting for taking photos with models. From what I've seen walking around the different areas, I think there are many angles in Kalima that are just as cool for taking photos as anywhere else.
...Looking out from the edge of the pool, you can see the horizon line standing tall against the clouds that are high above.
...Relaxing days are filled with the beauty of the sky and the sea.. Like this, no matter how hot it is, I can endure it for beautiful and colorful pictures.
...After walking around the swimming pool for a while, I came to another spot on the right side next to the pool, which was a path leading down to the "Thai Taste Restaurant"...
... as seen in the picture, the roof is conical. The area is not very large compared to the restaurant on the other side. But the difference is in the type of food, which at Thai Taste focuses on Thai food... The taste is also in the Thai style, which is very familiar to our tongues.
...The overall atmosphere of Thai Taste Restaurant in the afternoon can be a bit stuffy for us, but there is still some wind blowing through... Sitting and enjoying the view of the sea in front for a while can help to cool down a bit...
...From Thai Taste Restaurant, walk back up to the pool again. But if you cross to the other side of the pool, you will find the "Busaba Spa", a small spa with a shady atmosphere in a small corner.
...The moment the staff brought me water, I felt refreshed. But when I saw the cold towel, I felt even more refreshed because not only did it smell of herbs, but it was also cool and refreshing, relieving the heat from the outside air. ... I spread it out and put it on my face for a minute, and it felt so good. ...
...The reception counter inside the spa is beautifully decorated, making it feel like there are many birds nesting on the ceiling. The shape of the area is curved, and walking in feels comfortable, not angular, which would give a harder feeling. In my opinion, it's very suitable for a spa.
...From the picture, it shows a foot massage room with cool air conditioning, a comfortable atmosphere, and a fragrant aroma in the spa style, which gives a very relaxing feeling.
...The room space is compact, with the number of seats as seen. In reality, customers tend not to be punctual, so there is no problem with insufficient seating.
...There are also Thai massage rooms available for customers to relax in a bathtub and get a massage on a bed from staff who have been trained in massage. If I wasn't so keen on walking around outside, I would definitely have used the service.
...After spending a long time in the spa, I was afraid that I would enjoy the cool air too much, so I decided to go out and sunbathe again. This time, I got the strong red color I wanted on the top floor at the "Malika Terrace" restaurant.
...As the name suggests, the resort plays with simple wordplay. For example, the resort is located on Kalim Beach, so they added an "a" to create the name "Kalimalim". This is also the case with the rooftop restaurant, Kalima, which is spelled backwards. I haven't confirmed this with the resort, but I'm pretty sure that's the case.
...The rooftop area of this restaurant is not just spacious, it's vast. The photos don't do it justice, but the next ones will give you a better idea of the scale.
...There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas... During the day, most of the people I saw were sitting indoors, as it was very sunny both days I was there.
...And then came the first meal at Malika Terrace... I opted for a light and easy dish, the beef fried rice. At first glance, I thought it would be ordinary, but after taking a bite, I have to say that the beef was incredibly tender... Along with another light appetizer (I can't remember the name)...
...After this picture, it's time to enter the room. The room I stayed in was a Deluxe Seaview room.
...The Deluxe Seaview room that you have chosen to stay in is located in the front building with a sea view. Looking diagonally to the left, you will see the atmosphere of Patong Bay from a high angle... It is very beautiful and comfortable to the eyes.
...Inside the Deluxe room, the bathtub is located outside the shower area, but there is no problem at all. I think it's good to move the bathtub outside, so you can see the sea when you open the blinds. It still gives you the same feeling.
...In the afternoon, the sun will start to move to the front of the resort on the sea side, slightly to the right (as of the month of travel)... The angle may change depending on the time of year, but of course, if the weather is good and clear, you will definitely see the sun setting over the horizon...
...Inside the room, I must say that the condition is very new. This is because the resort has only recently opened. Plus, the bright color tone of the room, which is not a dark brown, makes the room look even cleaner.
...a complete set of bath products... The tall pyramid design is cool.
...After tidying up the room, it's time to wash away the day's grime. The shower has great water pressure, leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Before heading to the rooftop restaurant for some evening ambiance, we take a few more photos.
...Turning your back to the sea and looking back at Malika Terrace at this time, the sky behind the mountain-view rooms is a beautiful, clear blue, contrasting perfectly with the heart-shaped roofs and the green of the trees.
...Right now, it might be quiet for guests because most of them are still enjoying the pool downstairs and other activities... I'll slowly walk around and capture the atmosphere little by little.
... followed by the kitchen preparing a small set menu for a photoshoot, bathed in the cool evening light that is now starting to cast a golden orange glow. The first dish in this photo will be Cosmo Tuna & Pama Ham.
...followed by Cosmo Rock Lobster and drinks
...The event continued until the evening light, opening with a view of Malika Terrace, whose heart-shaped roof was lit with golden orange lights, contrasting beautifully with the mountainous skyline in the background.
...The contrast between the day and afternoon is clearly visible... In the evening, it is certain that most diners choose to sit outside to enjoy the cool breeze, watching the sea and the sky change color, adding to the beauty of their day off.
…some people walk back into the shade… This area is also used for breakfast.
...Ending the first night before returning to the room with a picture of the swimming pool at night when it was deserted, but beautiful with the lights...
...As you can see in the picture, there are no more guests playing in the water now because it is gradually getting darker. Only the staff are left to clear and pack up...
...Looking at it, it's beautiful in a different way from the clear sky during the day. .. Say goodbye to the first night with this picture before waking up to the buffet breakfast line in the next picture.
...A new day, waking up feeling refreshed, taking a shower, washing your face, and taking care of personal matters. It's time to energize your body, which is still at the same place, Malika Terrace.
...The hotel offers a wide variety of food for guests to choose from, including both Thai and international cuisine...
...The morning atmosphere will be especially lively, quite different from yesterday's romantic and sweet dinner...
...Most of the guests who come to stay, apart from Europeans, are mostly Koreans and Japanese... From what I've observed, many of them are honeymoon couples... I'm so jealous of them from the morning...
...After a hearty breakfast, it's time to capture the next room type. Let's take a look!
...The next type of room we're going to explore is the room above the swimming pool with chairs in front, which is the Double Pool Honeymoon Suite (it will only be one floor). Because the top floor that you see in blue and orange stripes will be another type of room.
...Upon opening the room door, you will be greeted by a spacious room... The color scheme, from what I observed in the Deluxe Seaview room where I stayed, suggests that all the rooms here will have this style...
... is a very spacious room with a large bed that is comfortable for foreigners. For Thai people, it would be even more comfortable to sleep on... The interior is not decorated much, and the materials used are mostly light-colored wood.
...The spacious room is comfortable to walk around, and the relaxation corner is more than enough for 2 people. Although the name of the room, Double Pool Honeymoon Suite, may not use a very sweet or romantic decoration, the feeling I got from just walking around taking pictures inside the room is that the atmosphere is more of a classic, simple romance rather than anything too sweet.
...A close-up shot of the white swans, another picture of the couple before they walked to the balcony in front of the room...
...The sun rises behind the resort on the mountainside, resulting in a beautiful sky over the sea in the morning. Looking further out, you can see Patong Beach in the distance.
...Sitting here in the morning might not be ideal, but in the evening, I think this spot would be incredibly romantic.
...walking back to the pool again with the atmosphere in the late morning, almost noon... This picture will clearly show the location of the pool in the middle. Next to the right is the Thai-Taste restaurant, which is located behind the conical thatched roof. And on the left, the path next to the wooden slat bridge will be Busaba Spa.
...Right by the pool, there's also the Trio Pool Bar, which serves customers who want to order grilled food so they don't have to walk far to order food... Let's just say the service is very close at hand.
...In other areas, there is a fitness room located above the swimming pool, which is adjacent to the room for young children.
...From a high angle, this image clearly shows Malika Terrace, extending to Patong Beach on the opposite side.
...As you can see, the rooftop area is a very spacious restaurant, both indoors and outdoors.
...pictures of the atmosphere of various places that I walked around and took pictures of along the way.
...We arrive at another zone behind the mountainside, lined with trees. This zone feels completely different from the front. The lush greenery and the towering trees that cover the back create a stark contrast to the front.
...From the sand picture seen, the resort has created an artificial beach imitation. Since this place is not by the sea and has no beach, they have created their own... It creates a strange and different atmosphere from the usual.
...As the afternoon waned and the evening drew near, the sun had shifted to the front of the resort. The sky was a clear, bright blue...
...The next room to explore is the Duplex Pool Villa, which is like a house... Both the entrance and the interior will be seen later.
...This type of room has 2 floors. The lower floor that you see here has a small private pool in front of the room, the atmosphere is great.
...Inside the spacious room, it's easy to walk around. The decoration is simple, as usual, in the style of Kalima.
...Although this small pond is not large, it can still bring some joy when compared to the scenery in front that you can see when you look far away.
...In reality, without the mirror, you would probably have a clearer view. However, on the bright side, it serves as a safety precaution and provides guests with an extra layer of privacy, rather than leaving them completely exposed...
...Taking a step up the stairs to the upper floor, which will be the bedroom area, compact in size according to the space..
...Of all the rooms I've seen, I think the Duplex Pool Villa bedroom is the most colorful. This is probably due to the dark blue-green color used for the curtains and the wooden panels on the wall. From this corner of the room, you can also see the rooftop restaurant.
...The small pool is located on the lower floor. The upper floor has a bathtub and shower. It is a large room with a sliding door that opens and closes between the bedroom and the bathroom.
...After spending two days and two nights relaxing and walking around Kalima, I must say that I completely forgot about the beach I was looking for. It has been replaced by beautiful views... Especially from the high-angle views that can be seen from the rooms or the restaurant... From different points, I must say that there are many beautiful photo spots here...
...From the picture, it's Patong Beach zoomed in from the rooftop of the restaurant above... You can see that it's bustling with people and activities...
...Kalima Resort & Spa Phuket made me change my mind. Even though I was initially hesitant about the lack of a beach, I grew to appreciate it and was particularly impressed by the layout of the different areas, which were perfectly designed. (Although walking up and down can be tiring, you get used to it after a while... and it's a good way to exercise)...
...From this angle, I tried to get to the highest point of the resort. I don't know if there is any other position that can go higher than this. The angle may look a bit cluttered, but it shows the beauty of the view in front that stretches out as far as the eye can see, matching the mountain range on the opposite side...
...The light of the day gradually faded away... Several small boats began to sail back to shore again... The impression of Kalima made me feel that working was like a vacation...
...The next day, it will be time to leave Kalima and continue on to another destination...
...The sun still hasn't set below the horizon, just like yesterday, even though the sky was clear and sunny all day. I guess my luck hasn't run out yet...
...concluding with a view from this angle that showcases the grandeur and beautiful design of the building layout.
...Kalima Resort & Spa Phuket may not be suitable for those who want beachfront accommodation, but for those who think that the beach is not as important as the atmosphere and design style of the resort... I think it is another resort that is worth changing the atmosphere to sleep for a night or two. You will get a different taste of seaside relaxation. With beautiful scenery from high angles, along with a special vacation day at Kalima Resort & Spa Phuket, you will be ready to bring happiness and impression back to your bag...
...See you again in the next review .. Thank you friends for watching. ^^
